Basics of Learning ABCDEF

For the next 5 years at OACF you will experience a range of different subjects. Not only will you gain knowledge about these subjects you will also gain a bank of key skills, that will prove valuable in your future careers. To be able to learn in each lesson you attend, your behaviour and the behaviour of others around you needs to be positive as we expect from you. Research suggests that if you do not fully concentrate on what you are learning, you will not learn it. Negative behaviour not only impacts your own learning in a negative way but it will also impact negatively on others around you. So we must ensure that our mindset is positive and you are aware of what is expected of you.

We ask that all students come equipped to every lesson with the correct stationary, their planner and a positive attitude towards learning. At the start of every lesson planners should be on desks, equipment should be out and you should be looking at your teacher ready for instruction. When reading we ask you to use a ruler to help you focus on the text and written work should be in pen not pencil.
