Math

We are examining addition strategies in class and continuing our study on data relationships (a.k.a. "graphs and charts"). Homework reinforces number sense and spatial thinking. A homework sheet will be sent home daily and marked soon after.

Reading

We have started with reading in class. Each student has been given a reading strip to help with tracking words. Students are currently choosing books of personal interest from the class library to read during silent reading time.

Fruit of the Spirit

Saint Paul tells us, "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23). Children who have been "caught" being a role model of any of the gifts will receive a Fruit of the Spirit Award and be put into the monthly school-wide draw for a prize.

For the month of December 4A will be looking more into what joy means.

Science Investigations

I didn't hear you. Did you say there's been a change?

Yes. We've had a change of plan, we are investigating how we sense the world.

I see. I don't know how I feel about that...

It will be ok. We will come back to transformation of energy later.

Social Studies Investigations

We are discovering the different physiographic regions of Canada and what natural resources are found in the regions.
