Interested in Hong Kong?

Admission to the Hong Kong universities for CIS students is done via direct entry application rather than through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System scheme (JUPAS) designed for local students. All universities now have on-line applications for non-jupas applicants. It is the responsibility of our students to lodge their application at varying deadlines ranging from middle of November  (usually for HKU) until approximately May.

As with the UK, Canadian and Australian systems, Hong Kong universities are interested in the external examination results (IGCSE/GCE ‘O’ and the final International Baccalaureate diploma results). Some universities will not make their decisions until they receive the final IB results in the summer; others will make a provisional offer based upon “expected” results. Some institutions require interviews, personal statements and all require school recommendations.

Please note that selective and popular professional programmes such as Medicine, Law (HKU & CUHK) and related Global Business programmes (CUHK, HKU and HKUST) are highly competitive. If you have also applied elsewhere such as UK and already received conditional offers from the more reputable universities it might be helpful to let CUHK,  HKU and HKUST know this. This will not disadvantage your application but will be helpful to show that you have received offers from such institutions.
