Re: Scholarships Available for Overseas Studies for Fall 2024 

Below is a listing of undergraduate scholarships available for overseas studies. Please be mindful of the application deadlines, terms and conditions pertaining to different scholarships. Please note that some scholarships are means tested while others are strictly based on academic (plus co-curricular activities) merit.

NOTE TO YEAR 13 STUDENTS: no late scholarship applications will be entertained, and no further reminders will be given. Therefore, it is very important to submit the 2023-2024 Scholarship Interest Form indicating your intention to apply to any of these scholarships by 5 pm on 1 September 2023. 

1. Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarships for Overseas Studies 2023/24 This scholarship is only awarded to one Hong Kong student each year. The application deadline is on or before 8 September 2023. For enquiries, please ring the SEYMF Council Secretariat at 2150-6097 or 2150-6110.

2. Prince Philip Scholarship tenable at Cambridge University The application deadline is 16 October 2023. An information session will be held on September 6th. For enquiries, please ring Ms. Cannie Kwan on 3608-8277.

3. Jardine Foundation Scholarships tenable at specific colleges at Oxford and Cambridge has a 20 October 2023 (8pm HKT) deadline. 

4. Jefferson Scholarships at the University of Virginia are awarded to high school seniors who demonstrate excellence and exceptional potential in the areas of leadership, scholarship, and engaged citizenship. Recipients receive the entire cost of attendance at the University of Virginia and many supplemental enrichment experiences. Application deadline is 15 November 2023. CIS is a nominating school and can nominate one student for this scholarship.

5. The Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme for Hong Kong students to study overseas has an application deadline of late December 2023.

6. The AmCham Charitable Foundation 2024-2025 for US-bound students has an application deadline on the first week of May. Students will be asked to indicate interest at a later date for the AmCham scholarship.
