Statement of Impact: Sex Education is not just about sex. Throughout the past week I’ve created an intuitive game which directs players towards an informational website I’ve created which includes a collection of youtube videos, webcomics, links etc. which discuss topics which I deem are the most relevant to our modern society.
Further Description (200 words max)
My goal for this project was to educate at least 20 of my peers on relevant information about confidence, sex, and identity. I tried to accomplish this by creating a website with a collection of relevant resources, and persuading people to go on there by creating a game which directs players to my website. I believe that the website was well created and informationally dense. However, the game which I had released to the students didn’t have much correlation to my website, and people had commented on the rather crude title of my game. I felt hurt on the initial release day, as the negative reception was unexpected. Only 2 people had submitted a review on my website, an extremely underwhelming number. I had spent a lot of time and hard work creating this project, and to see little to no result from it had hurt. Plans for the future are:Statement of Impact: We created an organisation (helpers for helpers) that did three things:
Ran a session on Feb 7 (Sunday) for migrant workers to discuss and share their stories, as well as empower them through making them aware of their rights and educating them;
Talked to domestic helpers and asked them to share their stories/experiences as a migrant worker, and posted these stories on an Instagram account (helpers for helpers);
Created a youtube channel to teach migrant workers about culture and fitting in Hong Kong (Hong Kong culture, cantonese lessons, etc)
Further Description (200 words max)
We had three goals: to inform 15 people about the struggles of domestic helpers and let them build understanding and empathy towards them, teach 5 migrants about their legal rights and allow them to share their stories with discrimination and exploitation with one another, and inform up to 5 people about our youtube channel teaching migrants about Cantonese. We were able to achieve all our goals except for the third one: We spent the most of last week interviewing and talking to domestic helpers, and preparing for the session, but we didn’t reach our goal in the output of videos, and hence weren’t able to inform enough migrants. After interviewing lots of helpers, we were particularly shocked at how many helpers have been through some sort of domestic abuse, and it was really disheartening. It was also really fun to create the Youtube videos, the filming, and also the editing. As for after this unit, I (Aiden) felt really inspired by the stories of these domestic helpers and also had a lot of fun documenting these stories, so I will continue to run the Instagram account and share stories there.Statement of Impact: We created a 5-8 minute documentary-style video detailing the experiences of individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds in Hong Kong, and made presentations to a Y8 class, raising awareness about the issue.
Further Description (200 words max)
From the very start, we were interested in the topic of racism as it was something that we have been exposed to in our life in Hong Kong. We got 3 interviews with people of various ethnic backgrounds, who either grew up or moved to Hong Kong, and experienced varying levels of racism during different generations. We decided to make a documentary to capture the interviews, facts, and images that we have found to help convey the stories of people who have been affected by racism in Hong kong. We thought that the documentary would be the best way to help show what is happening currently around the world as a visual representation is much easier to interpret than an essay. We managed to present the documentary to a CIS class, and while it wasn’t in person, a lot of people were interested and asked questions. We are confident that we have raised awareness, even in a small way. It would have been nicer to do it in person, and we would have been able to present to a wider audience, however we can’t control how the virus spreads and we are looking forward to taking this project to the next step in the near future.Statement of Impact: We made an impact by going to a beach in Clear Water Bay and picking up 21 gallons of garbage to keep the environment around the ocean clean.
Further Description (200 words max)
With our target being a combination of 2 similar yet slightly different targets we decided to organise a beach cleanup in order to unite our SDGs. The reason for choosing a beach cleanup is because the idea of it is simple and very straightforward to do as all we need to do is clean a beach. We also chose this idea because it’s an opportunity to help the community around us as they won’t have to deal with visual and plastic pollution. In terms of results we were able to collect three 7-gallon trash bags worth of garbage on our chosen location which satisfies our minimum requirement therefore this was a success. Due to coronavirus cases we were not able to organise an event with many people so only the 2 of us went. We found this to be a very meaningful and interesting experience as we both found it to be enjoyable, it also reminded us about the existence of such pollution and harm that we cause to the environment.Statement of Impact: I did my part in fighting common communicable diseases by making giant health checklists that guided my extended family towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle, increasing their immune system, and providing tips about how to stay safe during pandemics.
Further Description (200 words max)
My goal is to help fight communicable diseases. I made giant checklists for my extended family paste on their bathroom and bedroom doors to be constantly reminded to do health checkups and to be stocked on equipment like masks, safety goggles, and hand sanitizers so they always have a consistent supply. The checklist also has reminders for drinking water and eating exercise to guide them to a healthier lifestyle. I believe that I am on the right path to helping my extended family adapt to the checklist, they still need reminders here and there, but they are very cooperative. The main highlight is that by helping people close to you, you get to see the actual change that happens and that is incredible. My key takeaway is realising that change doesn’t always necessarily have to happen to a large group of people, sometimes focusing on creating change on people close to you is just as meaningful and can ensure a more lasting impact that won’t just fade away as the unit ends.Statement of Impact: The final goal and aim of my project was to change the mentality that people have on reducing their own waste, to change it from something they don’t care about to something they at least do a little bit about and are aware of.
Further Description (200 words max)
What surprised me was the change that one person can actually make, and the power of the internet. I feel like I did make a change and meet my goal which was to promote a better understanding that people have about reducing their waste. I know this because of the people who have visited my website (pledge signed), as well as through checking the waste chute where I live. Please note that I tried to make the door to door and poster experiment as fair as possible so take the results with a grain of salt. In the end I put everything I did on this website, the rest is pretty self explanatory.Statement of Impact: In this project, I made several videos that taught elderly people the usage of the online shopping app, HKTV mall.
Further Description (200 words max)
Every single trip to the supermarket is a challenge for elderly people. I often see elderly people struggling to read the labels off food cans, having trouble with bending down, not knowing how to use the self checkout machines and having a hard time carrying heavy groceries back home. My goal was to teach elderly people how to use the app HKTV mall. By doing this, they do not have to walk long distances, but could still get the groceries they want. HKTV mall is an online shopping app that has all the daily necessities and food the elderly people need. I made videos that explained specific steps on buying the products and sent them to 8 different elderly. 6 of them replied back. It was quite successful, as they understood my videos and actually bought products like apples, juice and shampoo. This project reminded me of how important it is to support the elderly, we often neglect their problems even though they are struggling. Especially now, technology is flourishing, and the elderly can’t keep up, therefore they are hesitant to try out apps, such as HKTV mall. Therefore, we have to look out for them and give them even more support.Statement of Impact: I raised awareness of the importance of mental health and support for other students by making a story map on this issue and sharing it with students, mainly focusing on the impact of the events that happened in Hong Kong in 2019 and 2020 on local secondary students.
Further Description (200 words max)
My goal is to raise awareness on the importance of mental health, as well as teaching students how to seek help and improve their own mental health. I will do this by creating a story map which will include information on the situation of mental health in Hong Kong, organisations that students can seek help from and ways that students can reduce stress. It will also contain interviews and personal stories from students. I will be posting this story map on social media where students can access it. In addition, a questionnaire will be given out to determine the effectiveness of the story map. Although I have now mostly completed the story map and have interviewed students, I have not yet posted the story map on social media yet. The reason for this is I haven’t created the survey for students yet. There were also technical issues that I ran into, such as there not being audio on the story map which I have to resolve before the story map is complete. However, this is a really meaningful project, and I will continue working on it after the unit has ended.Statement of Impact: In this project, Tyler and I decided to make our fellow HZ8 students and teachers watch a documentary that we created about the impacts of plastic waste during the pandemic, and got them to pledge to record themselves doing an act that would conserve/reduce plastic waste and usage.
Further Description (200 words max)
The goal of this project was to get people to either reuse or reduce the amount of plastic they were using in their daily lives, as a means to incentivise them, we featured anyone who signed the pledge(and sent a photo) on our instagram page, which was meant to attract others to start making an impact as well. Due to severe filming complications causing countless delays in our progress, we were not able to meet our goal of 20 signatures and only managed to get 7 people to sign the pledge. However, we hope that since we are now finished that we can get people in greater numbers. I was particularly surprised at the length of how far some first responders were willing to go in order to make an impact and hope that through my project more people can help these first responders or become first responders themselves.Statement of Impact: The project is a social media (Instagram) campaign that aims to raise awareness against gender-based violence and address gender stereotypes in hopes of educating the general public and increasing the level of sensitivity across a wider audience.
Further Description (200 words max)
My main goal in this project is to raise awareness against gender-based violence and address gender stereotypes. To do this, our group started a social media campaign by posting information about how victims can seek help, as well as address limiting beliefs and gender roles in order to break the gender stereotypes and validate people for trying out things that are typically not expected of their gender. To obtain information about this topic we conducted primary and secondary research (i.e. interviews with female family members to share stories about their personal experiences, data and statistics on gender-based violence in Hong Kong, information about gender rights). To reach a larger audience on instagram, we planned to post six times throughout this past month, using hashtags to deliver and spread meaningful messages concerning gender equality. We successfully attained over 50+ likes per post, which the algorithm has ranked it in higher feed and in search. We have utilised illustrations, audio/ video content to make it intriguing for people to consume our content whilst learning more about gender-based violence and gender stereotypes.Statement of Impact: I ran a free tutoring program for children in the Philippines via Zoom, in an effort to assist them in their education.
Further Description (200 words max)
I interviewed my helper about her education in the Philippines. I realized, to my surprise, that I didn’t know much about her education or childhood. This reminded me of the “Closer Look” Activity where we observed things that were a part of our daily lives, but that we never paid much attention to. My helper has a friend in the Philippines who is a teacher, and I decided I wanted to help her primary students with their homework. I’ve tutored children in my residential area before, and it was pretty successful. Obviously, this approach is much more ambitious and difficult. Unexpected issues may come up, such as language and technology barriers. But these challenges will not stop me from continuing to be passionate about SDG Target 4.1 - By 2030 ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes - because I feel very fortunate to be able to have had and continue to have access to Quality Education. I will have my first tutoring session with a girl named Rishka this afternoon (since other times did not work for her.) So unfortunately, I don’t have photos of the experience yet.Statement of Impact: I created an informed and constructive government plan to combat the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic which I have sent to Mr. Bernard Chan, the Convenor of the Executive Council (I have received a response) and the Chief Executive.
Further Description (200 words max)
For all my life I have had the deepest interest in aviation and now the industry I love is suffering. After mass layoffs at Cathay Pacific and the shut down of Cathay Dragon, employees are in jeopardy with mortgages, debts and family expenses hanging over their heads. I personally know many pilots and cabin crew who have been laid off and are in dire financial situations. Unfortunately, the challenges facing the aviation industry are only a small example of what our city is facing as a whole which is why I created a constructive plan which the government can enact to help ease the pain in our society. My plan involves the creation of a coronavirus relief task force, comprised of the Labour Department, the Housing Department, the Education Department, the Social Welfare Department and the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau. Working together, these bureaus hold the key to improving the issues we are facing now. I wrote this in a letter format and it goes into more detail about what each department can do and it has personally been given to Mr. Bernard Chan, the Convenor of the Executive Council whose response is attached above.Statement of Impact: I educated 15 people(family/friends) on the recycling problem in Hong Kong both in-person and with virtual information sheets, and convinced 5 people to recycle once a week, with 3 of them agreeing to send me video proof.
Further Description (200 words max)
My goals for the project were really just to see what was stopping people from recycling.I saw all these statistics that were really quite morbid, talking about how Hong Kong was one of the few cities that had recycling statistics that were trending downwards ever since 2018, and then trying to solve the problem that was preventing people from recycling. What i found was that most people would be willing to recycle if they could fit it in conveniently.Of course, some people I asked had recycling bins right in their apartment complex that they did not know about, but quite a large majority had to actively go outside to recycle, and some did not even know where a close cluster of recycling bins or a recycling center was.So, for the information I put into my information pamphlets, I put the government website that listed recycling centers near you, as well as some different statistics about recycling in Hong Kong.Statement of Impact: I would like to create a fundraiser activity, and donate the funds to an established charity organization in China focusing on kids with disabilities and poor conditions.
Further Description (200 words max)
My project’s main goal is to host a fundraiser activity, and collect up to 2000$ to donate for sick, disabled and children who cannot afford/access proper education in Northern China. This will be directed to 暖雅计划 “Warm bud” initiative. In China, there is a large population of orphans, kids who are disabled, or under extremely poor conditions. There is a strong demand for safe and nurturing homes, quality education, healthcare and nutritious food, all of which are essential for healthy childhood development. UNICEF’s survey findings suggest that there are an estimated 9 million children living in poverty in rural China, where living and education support materials are very limited. This will allow children who are suffering level the same proper education as we have, and hope for a brighter, more prosperous future. This activity will be conducted via WeChat and Alipay, and safely via QR code. I also plan to contact the director of this fundraiser program (陈丽媛), who works with the children charity association program in China. As she is the manager of this initiative, I plan to help fund 2000RMB+ to her established charity.Statement of Impact: I started an anonymous advice giving platform using an anonymous Q&A platform called Curious Cat and posted small encouragements to my instagram account.
Further Description (200 words max)
There is no doubt when I say that the pandemic truly took the world by a storm, as we are all left alone in our rooms with nothing but screens serving as our main connection. Inspired by our recent turn of events, I decided to focus on students’ mental health. After interviews with school counsellors to further my understanding of therapy and a survey within the student CIS community, the idea of developing an anonymous advice giving website struck me. With that idea in mind, I first partnered up with CIS student support community - Peace Of Mind, to promote this project. Then, I took it to Instagram to further promote my project and posted small encouragements everyday, as well as used a popular anonymous Q&A platform called Curious Cat for people to send in questions. As people began to send in questions, I made sure to do research before writing my answers and made it clear for people to understand that I am in no way a professional. Looking back, this was truly an eye opening experience and I’m thankful to have been able to bring this idea to life!Statement of Impact: I hosted a sanitary product drive where people donated pads in an effort to help vulnerable communities in Hong Kong who lacked these products due to period poverty.
Further Description (200 words max)
Period poverty in Hong Kong exists in the sense that many people do not have the economic means to regularly buy products and that periods in itself are stigmatized and a taboo subject in conserative households. My goal was to collect period products, specifically pads, from people who were fortunate enough to have them and give them to someone who needed it. For collection of items, I asked friends and family to donate what they had and collected them over Chinese New Year break. After collecting them, I took the products to an organisation accepting them for emergency kits. I collected 20 packs of pads ranging in different sizes. Before completing this project and learning about period poverty, I was never conscious of the amount of privilege I had for both being able to have period products and also being able to talk to my family and friends about periods in general.Statement of Impact: Throughout our research we found out that there isn’t a lot of representation for the LGBTQ community and most schools in HK don’t have any education on LGBTQ+. We started a GSA club that anyone can join so that more people in CIS can be more educated on LGBTQ and people apart of the LBGTQ community can feel supported and have a safe palace to be themselves.
Further Description (200 words max)
We first sent out an email to the whole year to see who wanted to join our GSA.We had our first meeting on February 3rd and started off with a basic introduction. We had our first discussion which was about LGBTQ representation within TV shows . This was our first ever discussion as a group and it went surprisingly well. Since representation within entertainment was a common theme so we decided to watch an episode of a TV show with LGBTQ representation to wrap up .Our goal was to educate students of CISHZ about LGBTQ and make people a part of the LGBTQ feel a sense of belonging. We think that we achieved our goal to some extent. We definitely want to do more things related to this goal in the future but we feel like our first GSA meeting went well and people had a lot of fun, in fact we asked everyone and they said they were interested in going to the next meeting. Hopefully we can keep this club going in after HZ so more people can join and we can maybe even host some events to spread awareness or raise money to LGBTQ orginizations in HK.Statement of Impact: I made an impact on our community in Hong Kong by writing a language appropriate, simple Cantonese book (approximately 15 pages) for the ethnic minority children in Hong Kong to close the gap with Hong Kong locals, in an effort to provide quality education and reduce racial discrimination.
Further Description (200 words max)
I made an impact on our community in Hong Kong by writing language appropriate, simple Cantonese book for the ethnic minority children in Hong Kong. As they are often unable to read or speak Cantonese, ethnic minorities are unable to integrate into local society and communicate with Hong Kong citizens, leading to a widening cultural gap where mutual understanding cannot be achieved. I used words from the Hong Kong primary school vocab list and wrote an interesting story incorporating all of these vocabulary to assist their language learning. Illustrations, glossaries and english translations would also be added to provide the ethnic children with a fun and interactive learning experience. Later in the future, I also hope to be able to produce audiobooks with Cantonese reading so that it would be easier for ethnic minorities to be able to use the vocab in daily life. My main takeaway is that I understood more about ethnic minority children in Hong Kong. I feel very proud and accomplished creating a book and teaching others since it is my first time and it really feels different teaching others knowledge I learnt before.Statement of Impact: Using the tagline, "Fashion for the People," I fundraised for the job training of millions of people in the fashion industry who lost their jobs during this pandemic period and helped them to seek employment. Additionally, I presented a speech to the class about the devastating impact of the coronavirus to which they sympathized with the workers in the fashion industries and donated money to my fundraiser.
Further Description (200 words max)
The goal of my project was to create a concept for a new charity called “Fashion for the People '' and promote job training initiatives for the people in the fashion industry. Through organising a fundraiser in CIS under this charity, and presenting my speech to the class and on youtube to raise awareness for the unemployed people,. I have successfully met my goal of spreading awareness through my speech and helping employment for these disenfranchised workers.During the fundraising, I had to overcome the challenges of a schoolwide closure. I felt that this is my biggest challenge and takeaway as I had only one day to do the fundraiser, thus only raising 295 HKD. This reduced the amount of money I could’ve raised. This situation is similar to the local shopkeeper I interviewed, as demand is low therefore sales dropped. This allowed me to put myself in their shoes, and look at their struggles in another light. My biggest highlight during this project was interviewing the lives of the fashion workers. I learnt how the pandemic affected the livelihoods of the fashion workers and measures taken by different people to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.Statement of Impact: I created a website to educate my peers on the importance of responsible consumption and production, I sent it out using a Google form to record how their opinion on the matter has changed and whether they would do anything to reduce their negative impact on this problem.
Further Description (200 words max)
From the very start, my goal was always to increase awareness around the problem. Although it may seem that raising awareness is a very ineffective way of combating various issues that we face today, the garbage problem in Hong Kong seems to be mainly centred around the ignorance of its citizens. People in Hong Kong would be able to combat this problem quite easily, but they are just unaware that there is any problem in the first place. With this in mind, I decided to create a project to increase awareness on the severity of the issue. At the planning stage, I had a lot of difficulty creating a plan on how to measure my success in increasing awareness. However, after some feedback, I decided to use the form of a survey to record the thoughts and opinions of my peers before and after they saw my website that shows the severity of Hong Kong’s waste problem. The results were a resounding success, nearly everyone in my survey decided that responsible waste was far more important than they used to think it was. Also, all of them pledged to make an effort to reduce the amount of waste they create.Statement of Impact: We advocated for the use of sustainable methods of transport for students at CIS, through planning to host events, creating a promotional video, and promoting on social media in order to highlight the importance of a sustainable lifestyle.
Further Description (200 words max)
As aforementioned, I completed my goal by hosting a beach cleanup, a nature walk and a carpool to school day. I also created social media accounts in order to easily reach and grow my audience. I designed many posters and infographics that were on display both digitally and in person; educating people with statistics, promoting taking initiative with my hosted events, and motivating people with inspiring quotes. The posters, promotional video and social media accounts were quite successful, as I could see that a lot of people were able to view the posters, and the social media posts (including the promotional video) had a lot of impressions and views. Unfortunately, the events we hosted did not result as planned due to a recent surge of coronavirus cases in Hong Kong. Few were willing to carpool. and the nature walk had only Michael and I. To overcome these challenges, Michael and I made sure to take a lot of videos of the nature we came across, posting it on social media in order to share the beauty and for others to appreciate it as we did. A big surprise for me and personal moment of discovery was how much happier I felt knowing I was making a difference. Trying not to sound too clichéd, there was a certain level of self-satisfaction and pride that came with seeing the social media numbers and comments I received.Statement of Impact: For this project, I made 5 videos recording myself reading and explaining popular animation movie quotes in the style of short 1 minute videos and posted them on 抖音 for Teach for China and other underprivileged young students living in China to improve their English pronunciation skills.
Further Description (200 words max)
My goal for the project was for each of my videos to get at least 20 views and reach my target audience. Two of my videos reached this goal while the rest got around 12-16. I can’t determine how many of the viewers are the actual students I aimed to help as you can’t check who views your videos on 抖音 but it’s guaranteed that my videos reached at least a few students as I got the help of very kind CMs like Jo who used to participate in Teach for China and shared my videos with students. My original plan was to tutor younger underprivileged primary students through zoom but most students were on holiday when this project was set. I chose to post educational videos on social media instead because I figured tutoring would only help a small number of students since I am only one person, while video material could reach more students through social media. I hope my videos can help students better their English speaking skills as I was told English teachers in rural schools may mispronounce English words because English is not their first language. I’ll admit that I don’t believe my project made that much impact though, so I plan to further pursue my tutoring idea outside of school.Statement of Impact: I laid out the skeleton for a plan to install 2 indoor aerobic compost bins in the HZCIS dorm house so that each HZ student, teacher, and coach mentor can learn more about composting and experience it first hand.
Further Description:
Currently our world is in a huge climate emergency, and landfills are a big part of it. China currently produces 254 million tonnes of garbage a year that goes into landfills, which creates a large and unavoidable dent in ozone. By implementing these in house composting bins, we are allowing a chance for some of that waste to go to a better cause. For example, fertilising the fern and fauna around campus, or going to pig farms. Instead of ending up in a landfill where it’ll be burned into cO2, and damage the environment any further. So far, I have met up with the operation manager of Hangzhou CIS, Mr Zhao, who has been a great help through this process despite being so far away and we are in the midst of communicating the specifics. As well as being a part of the HZ student sustainability committee, allowing for a team of sustainability driven students to help me tackle this idea and bring it to life.Statement of Impact: In this project, I organised and implemented a children’s picture book drive at Discovery Bay Midvale Park, targeting books aimed at 5-7 year old readers, and sent them to Indonesia where the recipient lives.
Further Description (200 words max)
SDG 4, a quality education. These 3 words led me to ponder, aside from receiving the basic requirements of education, what if students wanted to learn other skills not a part of the school curriculum and not have the capability to do so? An example of this would be the story regarding my helper’s niece Anis, and her longing to learn English but not having the appropriate resources nor financial funding to support her. In this project I aim to help Anis with her journey of learning English.Through various video call meetings with her and the aid of my helper (translation purposes), she told me directly she longed for picture books. As this project is tailored towards her needs, I decided to plan and organise a book drive. Taking into account her English proficiency level, the criteria of the donation was picture books aimed for an average 5-7 year old reader, though she is 13. The picture book drive turned out to be a success, the results, a wide selection of picture books ranging from all different genres. Reflecting back, SDG 4 truly encompasses many aspects of education and providing the resources for Anis to learn english was a delight.Statement of Impact: I raised awareness about the racial inequalities people of colour face through making a website that provided information on this issue, and also by promoting it on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.
Further Description (200 words max)
Especially after the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, I realised how a lot of people, both globally and within my community, were unaware of how severe racial discrimination and inequalities were. Therefore, this compelled me to want to educate people on this issue, and raise awareness on it as well. Originally, I was going to make a social media account and post posters/infographics, but I didn’t think I would be able to convey enough information through this method, as I am not the best with managing my social media accounts. Therefore, after browsing on Twitter, I saw that making ‘carrds’ were really popular and effective for spreading knowledge, as they are simple yet packed with information. Unlike regular websites that you find through a Google search, ‘carrds’ are a lot more ‘informal’ and ‘social media friendly’, rather than being ‘research friendly.’ Personally, because I find very informative and formal websites quite intimidating to read compared to ‘carrds’, I thought making a ‘carrd’ and sharing it through social media would be a much more successful method to raise awareness, and I think this worked!Statement of Impact: Ian Lam (me) and Nathan Wong created a documentary and a survey to spread the harms of non-renewable power and to help promote the use of renewable energy in Hong Kong.
Further Description (200 words max)
We spent a lot of effort on the documentary. Nathan was not able to go out, therefore I went to Lamma Island and Kowloon Bay to record footage. Nathan did the voice-overs. Our aim is to warn others about the dangers of non-renewable energy and to promote the use of renewable energy, more specifically a feed in tariff program than both the CLP and Hong Kong Electric introduced. The program benefits both parties by reducing the customer’s electricity bills and allowing the companies to have access to excess energy. Afterwards, we showed the video to some of our friends/classmates, and received feedback via a google form we provided. We got a lot of positive results and some were influenced to take action or tell others about the program. We spent a lot of time on this, and we are extremely proud of our final product. We ourselves learned a lot more about our environment and how we should use renewable energy as much as possible, and as soon as possible.Statement of Impact: One-sentence description explaining WHAT you did, WHERE, for WHOM, and WHY
Further Description (200 words max)
Statement of Impact: We hosted a 'Kayak Kleanup' event in Sai Kung and cleaned up around 20 kg of ocean waste on multiple small islands, so that people can enjoy the beauty of the ocean and these islands.
Further Description (200 words max)
Our goal for the project was to reduce plastic and ocean waste in the Hong Kong Sea, and on it's beaches. We aimed to collect around 10kg of plastic waste per trip, 2 bags and 1-2kg per person. Our goal was also to post around twice a week on our instagram, and run 2 of these 2-3 hour long cleanups. In terms of our success, in context we did extremely well. We had 2 big bags of waste, approximately 10kg each. Considering it was Jake and I, plus 2 cameramen (our dads), we actually were able to complete a lot. Furthermore, due to the fact that there is a recent COVID outbreak in Hong Kong. A lot of people did not want to participate in group activities, that is why we only had the two of us. In terms of our instagram, we also reached our goal as we have only ran it for a week and we have had 2 posts and 50 followers. Finally, I really believe that this was a meaningful experience, Jake and I learned so much about beach cleanups and even found it an enjoyable experience, we hope to continue this program.Statement of Impact: Organised, promoted and oversaw 2 poverty-related trivia events for HZCIS students over Zoom in order to advocate and raise awareness for the extensive issue of poverty and economic disparity in Hong Kong.
Further Description (200 words max)
Through running 2 online trivias with the HZ 8 Cohort, our goal for this project was to raise awareness and educate others, as it’s the long term solution for eradicating extreme poverty. We attempted to make the learning experience as fun and enjoyable as possible whilst preserving the severity and societal relevance of the issue, as it is not money, but actually motivation and awareness that is the missing piece. Unlike donations and supply drives, raising awareness is much harder to quantify, hence, we decided to analyze our success based on qualitative data - by asking participants to fill in surveys about whether they believed the activity truly made them more tied to the issue. The results did show a positive correlation between the trivia and the level of awareness, showing a certain degree of change being made. In addition to the survey, our classmates looked very enthusiastic while answering the questions, another sign of a positive reaction and interest regarding poverty. In conclusion, the main takeaway is that, in order to alleviate an issue or a situation, we have to get others involved and give others the opportunity to empathize and understand the situation.Statement of Impact: I organized and promoted a Food and Fund drive at my school and apartment complex, collected 55.7 kg worth of food staples (Rice, cooking oil, and canned foods) to Feeding Hong Kong, in an effort to promote universal access to nutritional foods in Hong Kong.
Further Description (200 words max)
In order to optimize the impact I could have towards the current issue in Hong Kong, I decided to work with one of the biggest non profit organizations Feeding Hong Kong. After inquiring and talking with their highly experienced people, I was able to host a food and fund in their name, and all the donations with their help would be transported to the frontline charities that help feed the people of Hong Kong directly. They also played a huge part for the success of the food and fund drive. In a brief interview with the Founder and CEO of Feeding Hong Kong Ms. Gabrielle Kirstein, I found out that in general what food banks often need the most is rice. Rice is shelf-stable, cheap as well as nutritious. The fundraising part was also important. Through bulk purchasing, the food banks may get more food staples for a cheaper price. After I felt I knew what I had to do, I started to promote and organize the food and fund drive. My goal was in the end to have 50 kilograms worth of donations. In the end, with the promotion through social media as well as just talking to people, people donated 32 kilograms of rice, 3.7 kilograms (4L) of canola oil, and 300 dollars, which would translate to 60 meals, or 20kg worth of food staples. Thus, resulting in the total amount of 55.7kg worth of donations. I feel that I absolutely reached, or even exceeded my goal. Overall the entire experience was surreal, and what surprised me was the amount of support I received not only from the people at Feeding Hong Kong, but also those around me and donors who took great interest in this project.Statement of Impact: Inspired by a prior experience teaching students in rural China, I am providing virtual learning and communication sessions in English (and with Chinese translation on PPTs) for secondary grade 3 students in small cities in China where it is hard to access English information.
Further Description (200 words max)
My goal for this project is to reduce the rural urban gap in education, which belongs to target 4-5: eliminate all discrimination in education, and UNSDG 4: quality education. I was inspired by my previous experience of teaching rural kids in China 3 years ago. In my project, I planned lessons for students around grade 3 in secondary school (This had been changed from the previous project proposal, their teacher suggested that older students would communicate better and the sessions would be more effective), in a small city in China where students don’t have much exposure to English language and culture. I am conducting these lessons virtually. Through this project, I met the goal by making actually action to reduce the discrimination in education, although it isn’t impacting many people, I believe, through time, I can meet more different students and make a bigger impact. In this project I started with discussing with those students about cultural differences between HK and mainland, and I also offered them some advice on English, English speaking especially. My further plan would be conducting more of these sessions to the same group/ different groups of students.Statement of Impact: By privately raising funds from friends and family, I provided financial assistance (varying depending on the residents’ financial situation) for some lower income households in older apartment complexes with unlined galvanized iron pipes to install effective countertop or faucet mounted water filters to ensure the purity of their drinking water.
Further Description (200 words max)
Water safety is not a widely known issue in Hong Kong, and while it is true the water provided by the Water Supplies Department is very clean, older buildings before 1995, usually with lower income residents, have widely used unlined galvanized pipes, which after decades of use have begun corroding and thus possibly polluting and contaminating the drinking water of its residents. These pipes are now illegal to use but many older buildings have yet to replace their pipes, at least partially due to the costs associated. While I successfully raised the necessary funds, I have found challenges in establishing contact with the actual people I aim to help. I have reached out to NGOs such as Hands On Hong Kong and the District Councils, but as of the time of writing they have not yet responded. Once I can contact these households individually I will speak with them and ultimately help them install a water filter, either by providing them with the funds or delivering the filter to their apartment; if I am helping an elderly or otherwise physically less capable person, I could help them install it myself.Statement of Impact: I created an Instagram page where members of the LGBTQ+ community could anonymously open up about their problems and where anyone could ask questions. I answered them in detailed posts and tracked the amount of impact I made through the number of likes and follows that I got. I could see the growth of my account and how many people I impacted or helped.
Further Description (200 words max)
I chose to focus on the LGBTQ+ community for my E2i project because of the amount of homophobia that exists in not just Hong Kong, but also CIS. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I too have experienced discrimination and I know how horrible it feels. I wanted to use this project as an opportunity to support my fellow LGBTQ+ people and create a safe space for them. I also wanted to educate the teens in Hong Kong with homophobic views which is why I allowed them to anonymously input questions through Tellonym. This also is the reason I chose to use Instagram, as the majority of my target audience use Instagram on a daily basis. My goal for the instagram account was 120 followers and 40 likes and I surprisingly met this goal. Even though I did, I will still continue to post on the account because I want to continue to help members of the LGBTQ+ community and also educate my fellow peers.Statement of Impact: I planned and completed a book drive around my community that was donated to reBooked- a non-profit organization designed to help children of all ages to read and write online at a cheap price.
Further Description (200 words max)
My main goal of this project was to make an attempt to help children who do not currently have access to learning resources. I gathered a total of 53 reading resources and I believe that I completely met my goal to the full extent. However, I struggled with finding an organization that would accept my books, and for that reason, I requested an extension. 4 phone calls later, I found an organization called reBooked- a non-government organization that collects second-hand books and scans them online, or for sale and delivered to children to read. This website sells books at a very cheap price and allows children to have access to them any time. I managed to gather preloved resources and learning materials from multiple households, and donated them to somewhere children can have easy access to, learn. Some key takeaways from this topic are how many people are in need of some things that we don’t need, and instead of keeping them under our possession, we can donate them and make better use of these items. What I completed throughout this project was for children to be at full potential to read and write, and I feel content and successful.Statement of Impact: Hosted and promoted a book drive with over 160 books among CIS students, libraries around Hong Kong, and bankers which is donated to a small rural town in China in order to help literacy and numeracy in China, since there’s a lack of resources (books) in many rural parts of China.
Further Description (200 words max)
Ultimately, I would say our project was a success and we were able to achieve what we have wanted. Although the results may not be shown immediately due to COVID-19 worsening across China, I am sure that we will soon see the effects that our book drive has had on the kids in that community. Throughout the course, we have faced an incredible amount of issues with the main ones being logistical problems while shipping and sending the books out to the kids. A short two weeks delivery ended up turning into a month with our product getting lost in the mail and due to COVID-19, the school/center is unable to open which means the kids will not be able to receive their books as of right now. However, most of these issues were all surprises and were completely out of our control, the estimated time given to us by the post office was exactly two weeks and that was what we had planned for originally. Despite all the problems we faced, James and I were able to work very cooperatively as a team and we are looking forward to further expanding this project once the COVID-19 situation improves.Statement of Impact: I created an illustrated first chapter book so I have a way to make younger children (ages 6-10) aware about animal cruelty.
Further Description (200 words max)
I decided to make an appropriate illustrated first chapter book around 3,000-4,000 for children ages 7-11 to inform them about animal cruelty. I felt animal cruelty for some people, especially children, is not a well know issue and this can cause them to involuntarily add to the issue. I felt if people know about these issues at a young age they won’t make these kinds of mistakes, and it can spark an interest in this issue that can lead to them later in life being passionate about the issue and doing things to help combat it. My goal was to have a finished product at the end of the project and due to a shorter amount of time then I thought I had, I had to ask for an extension to be able to finish my product. The shortened amount of time was a problem as I had to work faster to make sure everything, even with the extension was completed in time. But I have to say I enjoyed the project even with the setbacks. I'm really proud of my final project.Statement of Impact: I gave a presentation and speech about SDG 4.2 (equal access to quality preprimary education) in a video call with 10 classmates to encourage 5-7 new students to join as Kids4Kids volunteers through the CIS program.
Further Description (200 words max)
For my final project, I created a presentation and speech about the lack of global preschool education and how this affects HK, with a focus on the NGO Kids4Kids and what volunteers do to help. The aim of the presentation is to encourage more people in our community (Y10 CIS) to join Kids4Kids. The presentation took place before Christmas break, and was given to 10 of my friends / classmates in a video call. My aim was to get 5-7 new Y10 students to become Kids4Kids volunteers, or at least attend one tryout session to increase empathy around the subject and raise awareness. Eventually, over 5 students out of the group of 10 expressed interest in attending a tryout session and in becoming volunteers, so overall my project was successful! Although small, this is definitely an important first step in raising awareness around the topic, and I hope that the increase in volunteers will create long-lasting improvements to the CIS Kids4Kids program in the future.Statement of Impact: I created a children’s book on SDGs for rural students in Hunan, China to read in their free time in an effort to introduce the SDGs and promote actions of change.
Further Description (200 words max)
Growing up in a rural area, the students don’t have many opportunities to learn about the world and the current global issues we face. Therefore, my project was to create a children’s book that would allow them to learn about the world through the SDGs, universal development goals for all people. To increase the students’ awareness, I will be sending PDFs of the book (not completed due to previous shipping issues with hardcopies) to the rural students and then ask them to take a quiz about the SDGs, testing their knowledge and the actual impact I make. I believe this project will really help the students develop insights into issues around the world, and with the underlying message of the book - know that everyone has the ability to make a change. Through this project, not only was I able to learn a lot more about the rural students over many interviews and conversations, I was also able to step outside my comfort zone and create a book for the first time, which was challenging but fun.Statement of Impact: I educated 20 classmates/friends/family on why water is a precious resource and how to conserve it and convinced 5 of them to reduce their dairy consumption by eating at least 5 vegan meals for the first week of February. I also created a 4 minute video on the global and regional water crisis.

Further Description (200 words max)
My chosen SDG goal was to reduce inequalities. Originally, I was planning on researching issues domestic helpers face but I didn’t know what I could do to help them with my abilities and ended up expanding the scope of my research to working women in general in Hong Kong. Thinking I had two weeks to do the project, I decided to be original and make an animated video instead since I had the time to do so and that would make my project stand out amongst the rest. I ended up completely underestimating the time it would take for me to create even a few seconds of animation and took a whopping four hours just to complete three seconds of simple animation and my entire project went downhill from there, mostly due to poor foresight and planning. My idea was doomed from the very start since a. the only animating experience I had was a very short animated ad for HZ Hawks, b. even if I had the skills to do so I wouldn’t have nearly enough time to make it actually good, c. although an animated video would attract attention it would not actually educate the audience and achieve the goal I was planning to achieve and d. a topic like the patriarchy is too abstract and broad to handle since it’s not a problem people can directly solve since it’s more of a systemic underlying issue and not a problem people can solve by donating or education. In the end, I failed but that’s okay because this experience taught me a valuable lesson and that making poor impulsive decisions with no prior planning or thought put into it is a bad idea.Statement of Impact: Created a website to educate others about the increasing amount of mask pollution in the ocean and the harm it brings along with the importance of proper mask disposal then create a short survey asking people who’ve read my website if it has impacted them/motivated them to start doing something to reduce mask pollution.
Further Description (200 words max)
My goal was to raise awareness and educate others on the ongoing mask pollution in the world’s ocean and how important proper mask disposal is. I chose this issue because it’s something that many people aren’t aware of as masks are usually seen as something helpful and protective when in reality they are bringing great harm to the environment. Originally, I was going to host some kind of beach cleanup but because of the current covid 19 situation, all beaches are closed and so I had to turn to another solution. I chose to create a website as it’s more appealing to the audience and a survey because I would be directly asking others to read my website, which increases my success and amount of people I impact. I received 36 survey responses in total, which totally surpassed my expectations as I was aiming for at least 7 because I was unsure if my plan was going to work. Not only has this project opened my eyes to the small problems our world is facing that people aren’t really aware of, but it has also made me more careful with everything I do as it might just have a chance of making a change to our environment.Statement of Impact: Organized a second-hand technology drive at CIS from Nov 24th to Dec 2nd in partnership with Crossroads Foundation to provide underprivileged children in Hong Kong and internationally with technology and computer accessories such as laptops, power cables, keyboards, computer mice, earphones, and hard drives to enhance their education, especially during this period of online learning.
Further Description:
Our goal was to collect technological resources to support underprivileged children during virtual learning. We promoted our drive and our cause to all secondary students and staff through Emails, Notices for The Phoenix Daily and Secondary Weekly Circulars. We managed to collect 34 power cables, 21 adaptors, 3 keyboards, 3 phones, 1 computer, 2 tablets, 5 pairs of headphones, 6 pairs of earphones, 1 mouse, 1 portable charger, 1 LED light, 1 selfie stick, 1 printer cartridges, and 14 USBs, which greatly exceeded our initial expectations of 3 laptops, 20 power cables, 3 keyboards, 2 computer mice, 10 pairs of earphones and 2 hard drives. We believe that these donations will greatly benefit children in need of support in the form of physical resources. To encourage more donations, we could have stuck posters around the schools advocating for our event and the cause, or shared the stories of the affected children to spark empathy in our school community. This project required us to think outside the box and go out of our comfort zone to make an impact for those less fortunate than us, in these challenging times. This experience not only helped us realize how fortunate we are to have access to quality education and technological resources, but also reminded us to be grateful for all the things we take for granted.Statement of Impact: I educated 5 of my friends and 5 of my relatives through a short video on one non-communicable disease which is cancer and tested them about it through a quiz.
Further Description:
My goal was to educate people on cancer and its signs and symptoms. I aim to compare the growth of knowledge. So I made a video on cancer, showing its symptoms and what to do when you see or experience symptoms of cancer. I made a quiz to test them before and after watching the video to show how much they knew before and after watching the video. I think I also realized while looking for inspiration on my videos that some really valuable information can come from the most unorthodox places. I think the most valuable lesson learnt in this project was not to decide on a target too fast, since what you choose initially might not be the most feasible target based on location and other different conditions. For my second goal, I feel like I achieved much more and made a greater impact in educating not just people younger than me, but also people older than me. I think the most important thing I learnt is that I don’t really have to do something big and over the top to make an impact, and that something small like a video can also make a big impact.Statement of Impact: One-sentence description explaining WHAT you did, WHERE, for WHOM, and WHY

Statement of Impact: I’ve gathered old/small clothes that my friends, family and I didn't need anymore, made them into canvas bags, sold them online and donated the money earned.
Further Description (200 words max)
After I came up with a project, I also thought of some reflection questions I could consider at the end of the unit. Did I get my friends and family to bring small/old clothes? Did I create canvas bags? How many did I make? Did I sell any canvas bags? If so, how many canvas bags was I able to sell? How much money did I earn? Did I donate the money?First, I sent messages to my cousin, my friend, my sisters and my mom to ask for clothes that they were going to throw away. Then, with the help of my helper who is very good at sewing, I created 5 well designed canvas bags of different sizes and colors. Then, I sold all of them on an app called 闲鱼, and earned 128 RMB. The money I earned was donated to an organization on 支付宝 that sends clothes to elderlies in rural areas.Overall, I believed that my project was well completed. I’ve reached my goals, and tried my best to make an impact on my chosen SDG. It was great when I used the skills I learned in Hangzhou hawks to sell my products and I felt a sense of accomplishment when my canvas bags were sold.Statement of Impact: I educated 30 peers about the recycling situation in Hong Kong such that 12 began to recycle their own waste; I collected information regarding the number of people in my apartment building that utilise the recycling option to understand more about the recycling issue in Hong Kong.
Further Description (200 words max)
My project had two parts; the first concerns the awareness and self responsibility of my peers. Through surveys and talking to friends I found that the majority (69%) do not recycle their recyclable waste and choose to dispose of it in an average bin. Through a social media campaign I hope to educate 30 of my peers to the point where they begin to recycle their waste. This campaign took place on instagram; I posted twice each day with infographics, graphs, and other facts and motivating ideas to change their habits. Although I didn’t meet my goal of 30 people, I feel I did make some kind of positive impact as in a second iteration of my survey 47% said they didn’t recycle, a huge improvement from my earlier survey. The second part was to collect information on my building. My block has 55 occupied flats, yet only 19 said they recycled. I found this to be deeply saddening as despite the option existing very few people took the time to recycle. Of the 36 that didn’t recycle, 21 said they would consider doing it. This project reinforced my belief that the only path for positive change is effective legislation.Statement of Impact: I created a poster promoting my food drive to my community, and was able to receive and donate over 100 food items(canned foods, pasta, noodles)to feeding Hong Kong, by doing so I helped provide food items needed in order to make meals for people in poverty.
Further Description (200 words max)
I had two goals for this project, educate people about poverty in Hong Kong, and donate over 100 food items to feeding Hong Kong. I first started off by making posters, sharing some knowledge on poverty in Hong Kong. Not only this but I also reached out to my community through a whatsapp group explaining my project. There were some difficulties when completing this project such as the boxes (where I put on the bottom of each lobby) going missing, resulting in only receiving up to 60 food items. I persevered and sent another text explaining the incident and asked if people could possibly put their flat number so I could collect the goods. At the end of my project I was able to receive 130 items of food, and donate it to feeding Hong Kong. Not only this but I took one of my classmates' advice and physically handed some food items to people in need. Overall I enjoyed this project as it was definitely an eye opening experience, and was rewarding to collect food and donate it to people who really need it.Statement of Impact: I went to Ma Hang beach with Tyler Yip and Arthur Ho to clean the beach, with the hopes of doing our part to reduce marine pollution on Hong Kong’s beaches.
Further Description (200 words max)
Tyler and I set out on Sunday morning to Ma Hang beach, a beach next to Stanley Plaza, which isn’t a public beach, so there is no lifeguard, and it doesn't get cleaned routinely. We met at 9:30. Arthur Ho was also there, but he was filming a documentary for his e2i project, so he didn’t pick up any trash. We started out at the edges of the beach, where the sand met the jungle, as not only was there a lot of plastic and styrofoam there, there were many people on the beach early in the morning, and we didn’t want to disrupt their time. By about 10:30, we had cleared up most of the edges, and some people had left the beach, so we moved closer to the ocean, and picked up the rubbish buried in the sand. Through this, I hope that we were able to temporarily reduce marine pollution on that specific beach, and hopefully, the people on the beach that saw us picking up their rubbish became more aware of their waste, and would remember to clean up after themselves next time.Statement of Impact: Gender equality is an important issue not only for men but for women in the World, This could relate to the Gender norms or Sexual harassment, The Me Too Movement or Equal pay.
Further Description (200 words max)
I believe that there is a serious issue in the World, we are at a point where not much has been done to advance our self despite us trying to make progress and towards equality. It is a statement that cannot be debated that Women and Men should be paid the same. But we are in a society where that isn't the case. Not only that but Men have to overcome rigid gender norms all the time and Woman have to deal with Sexual Harassment. My goal for the project was to do the BEST I could do to educate others and make an impact and I had several highlights from working with my peers to making an effort. My key takeaway is not overlook the unfairness over certain areas and to do your BEST to make a difference.Statement of Impact: I have completed a beach clean-up, allowing me to empathize with my topic; I have created an instagram account with Arthur to create a social aspect which will encourage more people to join; I have convinced 7 of my classmates to sign a pledge.
Further Description (200 words max)
I have done my beach clean up in the ma hang beach near stanley plaza. This allowed me to emphasise with my goal so that I could persuade my classmates better and get a first hand experience of the amount of plastic in our beaches. I have created an instagram account with Arthur to inspire others and encourage others through socializing the activity to sign the pledge or to reduce their plastic amount. So far, we have had 7 people who signed the pledge and are looking for more people. Me and Arthur have worked together to create a film in which we showcase the causes of ocean pollution and the solutions there are. We privately sent messages to our classmates and sent them the video to inspire them to help our planet out by reducing their plastic usage. We have spent a lot of time working on the video and we are proud of the final product.Statement of Impact: I filmed and edited a documentary titled “A Day in the Life of an Individual Living in a Subdivided Flat”. Through empathetic journalism, I gained a better understanding of the wealth gap and issues related to inequality in Hong Kong from the perspective of someone who has to deal with them everyday, getting to know them personally while deepening my understanding of the topic.
Further Description (200 words max)
After being prompted to investigate the “Dollar Street” project which compares families’ living conditions across cultures and continents, I felt connected to SDG goal #10 - ‘income inequality’. Through seeing snapshots of cutlery and toothbrushes, I was able to imagine what their lives looked like. I was moved by the project as a whole and was eager to make an impact, specifically something visual, and hence decided to film this documentary. This investigation helped me gain personal insight on how the individual felt about the work pace and restlessness of Hong Kong. Spending a day with them also made me realize how much more hectic their routines are, compared to someone on the other side of the socio-economic spectrum. The documentary includes the individuals’ flat, work place, daily transportation, and meals etc. Lastly, by uploading my documentary on the Hands On Hong Kong social media page, it subsequently gained a larger audience in our community, making an impact by ‘showing not telling’ the individual’s story. I’m glad that I was able to make a change, starting small, and being able to help Hong Kong get a step closer to closing the income inequality gap.Statement of Impact: We sent out a quiz to teenagers, surveying their understanding and awareness of food waste; then created a documentary detailing our findings along with other research, further spreading awareness.
Further Description (200 words max)
In conducting research and talking with organizations concerned with food waste, I have found that even though most people know food waste exists, they do not care and are not readily taking steps to reduce their food waste; since it does not directly affect them. Therefore, one goal of this project was to educate peers about the importance and urgency of reducing food waste; and we created a quiz, where around 30 peers pledged to reducing food waste. We decided this was not enough, and created a documentary detailing our findings and other research and uploaded it to Youtube, further spreading awareness. Through feedback provided in the survey, 76% of people said they learned more about food waste and cared more after doing the quiz; which means we did our part in creating an impact in the HZ 8 community. We hope that others will find and watch the documentary, hopefully creating an impact in the regional or even worldwide scale.Statement of Impact: Over the course of Empathy to Impact, I supported the UN SDG 12-8 by approaching 5 of my peers/family members and allowing them to try plant-based foods, as a method to endorse the healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle of plant-based diets.
Further Description (200 words max)
Throughout this project, I have definitely achieved remarkable progress. Out of the five people I approached, three were willing to consider plant-based diets, despite their original concreted craving for meat. I think that this 60% rate is something that we can work and build upon. To further develop my project, I am planning to utilize the powers of online media. In the Status Quo, social media (Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) is an efficient way of spreading awareness. I plan to post and share direct, unfiltered, credible statistics to quickly prove why a plant-based diet is so more beneficial for the environment, as well as one’s health. An inspiring takeaway from this project was that people weren’t incentivized to switch to a plant-based diet even after proving the environmental benefits. Most people were more motivated by the personal health benefits. From this, I see a clear reflection of the fundamental problems in my community, which is just subconscious selfishness to a certain extent. However, I quickly adapted to this situation and took another approach to try and solve this issue. I researched this lifestyle's health benefits, and people tended to be much more interested after this.Statement of Impact: One-sentence description explaining WHAT you did, WHERE, for WHOM, and WHY
