  • an ambassador for change to develop and promote powerful ideas for improving teaching and learning.


Our workshops focus on the theme of futuristic thinking, failure, fear, and risk-taking. All workshops will be 55-minutes. The strands range from the Early Years, Leadership, Well-being, and Specialists, to STEAM, Primary, Secondary, Chinese, Math, Innovation, and more!

Our aim is to have participants gage in hands-on learning where they are able to take away the one thing and use it the next day, regardless of what role you have at your school.

Aidan Quinn

Aidan is a Secondary School teacher at Stamford American School, Hong Kong, where he currently delivers the English and STEMinn curriculum for grades 6 - 9. He encourages both staff and students to leverage technology in order to maximize both creativity and efficiency.

At Stamford American School, the grade 6 students currently use the iPad Pro (1:1), and grades 7 - 9 use the MacBook Air (1:1). As a result, both staff and students require technical support and advice in order to fully utilize these devices. Aidan operates as a Digital Lead for the Grade 6 team; providing support and guidance relating to technology and implementation.

Betty Cheng

Betty is the Head of Professional Development and Subject Coordinator of Chinese Language at HKCCCU Logos Academy. She taught IBDP and HKDSE curriculum in local schools for 5+ years. Betty is passionate in promoting Flipped Education, E-learning, and Joy of Professional Development. She is the Vice Chairperson of Flippeducators@HK since 2016. Her team wrote a book that was the first published book of Flipped Learning by local front-line teachers in Hong Kong. She is an Apple Distinguished Educator and Apple Professional Learning Specialist offering workshops in many cities like Taipei, Beijing, Tokyo, Macau and Hong Kong. Betty's contributions in promoting innovative education were recognized by the ‘100 Education Innovative Leader Award’ in Taiwan.

Dr. Chi Hin Leung

Dr. Chi-hin Leung is a Hong Kong composer and music educator who was awarded the Gold Medal (e-Orch Grid Score) from the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, the Special Prize from the Romanian Inventors Forum, the champion of Hong Kong Handbell Festival Composition Competition and many more. His compositions are featured by international music festivals and published by renowned publishers and labels. Dr. Leung is the Assistant Professor at the Education University of Hong Kong, President of the Hong Kong Association for Music Educators, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild, Commissioner of the Music in School and Teacher Education Commission of the ISME, an Apple Teacher, and an Apple Distinguished Educator.

梁智軒博士為香港作曲家及音樂教育家,曾獲加拿大國際發明創新兢賽金獎(e-樂團方格樂譜)、羅馬尼亞發明家論壇特別獎、香港手鈴節作曲比賽冠軍等等。其作品於各國際音樂節演出及出版。梁氏現為香港教育大學助理教授、香港音樂教育家協會會長、香港作曲家聯會副主席及國際音樂教育協會的學校音樂及教師教育委員會成員。

Cindy Kaardal

Cindy is a Studio 4 teacher at the International School of Ho Chi Minh City. She taught the PYP curriculum in international schools for 9 years as an ICT specialist teacher, Head of Department in the computing curriculum, as well as assisted teams with the PYP framework as PYP Coordinator. Cindy is an Apple Teacher, an Apple Distinguished Educator, and Google Certified Educator, Level 2. She is an advocate for agency because she believes that students need to develop skills that are relevant to themselves as learners. Cindy provides opportunities for voice, choice, and ownership in a collaborative learning environment so students can take advantage of the resources around them. By working alongside her students to help them choose, act, and reflect on their days at school, Cindy helps them reach the potential of their personal goals and passions.

Coby Reynolds

Coby is an international educator with 10+ years of teaching and leadership experience in Australia, Dubai and Hong Kong. He is currently the Head of Primary IT at The Independent Schools Foundation Academy in Hong Kong. With a passion for all things learning and technology, Coby has implemented and managed 1-to-1 iPad programs in Dubai and Hong Kong and has a broad range of knowledge on how the iPad can support teaching and learning in all subject areas. Coby is an Apple Distinguished Educator and holds a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Information Technology.

David Lee

David is an elementary Design Innovation Specialist at Singapore American School in Singapore, an Apple Teacher, and is an Apple Distinguished Educator. His responsibility at the school is to facilitate educators in integrating STEM subject areas meaningfully and purposefully into their curriculum to increase learner engagement and achievement, provide learners with real world experiences, develop their 21st century skills, promote creativity and innovation, and provide digital tools that are appropriate to each student’s learning style. David models/teaches the design thinking methodology to students to equip them with a creative, problem-solving toolkit that they use to bring positive change to people's lives.

Ed Chang

Ed Chang's dedication in building a practical and sustainable approach to innovation in education is evident through his passion of 20+ years in teaching and learning. This spans from PreK-12 in public, magnet, charter, and private schools in New York City, Los Angeles, Seoul, and Hong Kong.

Currently, Ed is the Primary Year 5 Learning Leader at Chinese International School in Hong Kong, where he collaborates, explores, pilots, and implements innovative practices in the development of a dual language English-Mandarin classroom while focusing on how elements of STEAM can be integrated organically into the curriculum in order to promote authentic and purposeful learning for both students and educators. He is also a Google Certified Innovator, an Apple Distinguished Educator, and Chair of the ADE Conference Committee. Ed is also an Advisory Board Member of the Apple Distinguished Educator program that provides essential input and direction for the professional growth, advocacy, and content development plans for the ADE global community.

Jennifer Hsieh

Jennifer is the Primary Year 6 Learning Leader and a homeroom teacher at Chinese International School in Hong Kong. She focuses on a collaborative partnership in a dual language environment and giving students agency to engage and motivate learners in the classroom.

Jennifer started teaching in Los Angeles and now has been teaching abroad for nine years in Beijing and Hong Kong. She taught the PYP curriculum in Beijing for six years and is passionate about student inquiry.

As an Apple Teacher and Apple Distinguished Educator, she is interested in using innovative strategies with students so they can fuel their own lifelong curiosities and drive.

He is an Apple Teacher, holds a master of educational technology from the University of British Columbia, and has been teaching internationally across Asia for almost 15 years. Justin has a wealth of knowledge and strategies to help you empower your learners by planning for learning experiences that honor their voice, choice, and ownership in how and when they learn best.

Dr. Kelly Grogan

Dr. Kelly Grogan fosters cultures of engagement through training, system implementation, and community social responsibility. She is a researcher leading instructional change with data-informed practices as Head of Innovation and Staff Learning at Chinese International School in Hong Kong, adjunct professor in Lamar University’s Digital Learning and Leading graduate program, and is an Apple Distinguished Educator. Dr. Grogan's passion is to create a world of wonder and exploration for students and teachers by balancing learning innovation through the implementation of sustainable practices with real-world challenges inspired by the UN Sustainable Goals.

Keri-Lee Beasley

With 20 years teaching experience globally, including New Zealand, England, Indonesia, Singapore and Switzerland, Keri-Lee is passionate about supporting educators in using technology to enhance learning across the curriculum. She is an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Innovator with a strong instructional coaching background. Outside of school, Keri-Lee is an enthusiastic foodie, loves reading Young Adult novels, traveling, and has taken up gardening. Her latest adventure has seen her move her family to China to take up the role of High School Learning & Tech Coach at the Western Academy of Beijing.

Keric Lee

Keric, Head teacher of English department and e-Learning Section at S.K.H. Yuen Chen Maun Chen Jubilee Primary School, is an enthusiastic advocate of Flipped Classroom Approach in Hong Kong. He is also an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE), a Google Certified Trainer (GCT) as well as the Coordinator of English Curriculum of Flippeducators@HK since 2018. As one of the pioneers in local primary school context, he endeavors to employ e-Learning tools to facilitate learning and personal growth of young learners with individual diversities. Keric is often invited by schools, organizations and the Education Bureau to provide workshops on integrating eLearning with respect to multiple intelligences for the student’s development of self-directing learning routine. He believes the joy of learning can, and should, happen at any time, anywhere, with anyone.

Kim Blackhurst

Kim Blackhurst is a 5th grade teacher and digital lead at Stamford American School Hong Kong. Her role at Stamford as digital lead includes supporting her team with integrating and risk taking when implementing technology and innovation in classes. Kim had experience teaching in an inclusive school in Cape Town, South Africa before moving to Hong Kong, and thus has a passion for technology as a means of differentiation in the classroom. She is an Apple Teacher who enjoys experiencing the successes of technology integration, particularly when students are able to use various channels for creativity, and showing understanding in unique ways.

Kwok Ho Leung

K.H. Leung is the Vice Principal and the Head of STEM Development Team at Buddhist Kok Kwong Secondary School. He has taught Mathematics at HKDSE / HKCEE / HKAL for 20+ years. K.H. Leung is an innovative educator with substantial experience in STEM education, the flipped classroom strategy, and e-learning. He seeks to arouse students interest in learning and improve effectiveness of teaching through deploying various teaching methods. K.H. Leung was the Vice Chairperson of Flippeducators@HK, an Apple Teacher, and an Apple Distinguished Educator. He is also the receiptent of the Individual Prize - Educational Research Division, Outstanding Teachers Award Scheme by Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers.

Levent Erdogan

As an Apple Distinguished Educator and Digital Media Specialist, Mr. Erdoğan is passionate about developing innovative and engaging learning experiences for students in digital media design. Utilizing his experience from his previous career in the Los Angeles Film Industry and time spent working in various studio settings, he is able to apply his expertise to the media studies programming he offers his students. He also uses these skills to produce content for his music education YouTube channel (youtube.com/MrErdoganEDU), where he is able to educate students from around the world.

Mr. Erdoğan is currently teaching Film Studies, Music, and Phys-Ed, and is in his 5th year of teaching at Delia School of Canada - Kowloon East (DSCKE) in Hong Kong. Nicki Hambleton

Nicki is an Apple Teacher and an Apple Distinguished Educator who has been teaching internationally for over 20 years in the UK, Italy, Ghana and South East Asia. She is an advocate of amalgamating Technology and Art authentically in the classroom and passionate about visual note-taking. She has worked at UWCSEA in Singapore for 9 years and she is currently the Head of High School Art. Nicki is a COETAIL graduate and currently distance learning in the MA Education: Technology, Creativity and Thinking course at Exeter University. She teaches sketchnotes to students and adults through dedicated workshops and presentations and she has authored a collaborative eBook on the process of taking notes digitally with other ADEs.

Pan Pan Kuo

Pan Pan Kuo is an Apple Teacher teaching Chinese Language and Integrated Studies in Year 4, and the Head of Chinese Program for Years 3 and 4 at Chinese International School in Hong Kong. Her passion of making learning meaningful for her students is evident on using Apple technologies to support and enhance student learning. On Pan Pan’s free time, she enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures. And with this new knowledge, she thinks about how she can bring new ideas back into her classroom to spark creativity amongst her students.

Dr. Praise Ma

Dr. Praise Ma has seen the effects of war and poverty on students in Asia, MENA, and Africa, particularly Rwanda. Dr. Ma has served as an international educator developing literacy and connecting global issues to student voice from rural to 1:1 laptop environments. When not in the classroom, she can be found among the people of Rwanda or visiting rural village schools in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, thinking of creative ways to bring education to those who cannot access it readily, such as the Syrian refugees. Dr. Ma's interests include mobile learning, education in emergencies, refugee education, students dealing with trauma, access to education, educational technology, Third Culture Kids, and connecting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the curriculum. Currently, she teaches sixth grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Hong Kong International School, is an Apple Distinguished Educator, and a photographer

Ryan Krakofsky

Ryan is a Primary Digital Literacy Coach at Victoria Shanghai Academy, Hong Kong and an Apple Distinguished Educator. His responsibility at the school is to work alongside teachers to find purposeful educational technology integration opportunities across Years 1-5. He prides himself in incorporating the ISTE Standards, Design Thinking Model, and VSA Program of Inquiry to create engaging, memorable and challenging learning experiences for his students. Ryan holds a Master of Education degree from The University of Hong Kong in Educational Administration & Management. He has been teaching internationally for over 10 years and feels that he has found his true passion as an integrationist of educational technology. Ryan's recent achievements have been speaking on Blockchain Education at 21CLHK, Connecting Local and International School Teachers through #PubPDAsia Hong Kong, and continuing to develop his Teachin' It Real Podcast.

Sandra Chow is Director of Innovative Learning at Keystone Academy, Beijing. Sandra has taught in multiple grades and positions in Canada & Taiwan, and loves co-learning with other educators wherever she goes. She’s currently on a journey exploring what innovations in global competencies might look like, and co-hosts a podcast called GlobalEdTour - exploring what education looks like around the world. Sandra is an Apple Teacher, an Apple Distinguished Educator, Microsoft Innovator Educator Expert, Google Certified Innovator and Trainer, and one of the Google Geo EDU Advisory Board Leaders. She loves to hear and tell stories, and welcomes authentic connections wherever she goes.

Stephanie Castle

Stephanie Castle is currently an International Baccalaureate Biology teacher at Shanghai American School in Shanghai and an Apple Distinguished Educator. Originally from London, she has taught both chemistry and biology to High School students, and in her previous position, worked at the United Nations International School in New York. Stephanie has a passion for technology integration into the teaching and learning of Science, particularly in giving students opportunities to visualize their learning, explain complex scientific processes and engage in problem solving. She is the creator of a YouTube channel that supports IB Biology students and is the author of the published iBook "Creative Clips in Science - Stimulating Inquiry and Visualizing Learning".

Stephanie Thompson

Stephanie Thompson is a teacher of an awesome group of Year 6 learners at Nexus International School, Singapore. A passionate advocate for making learning powerful, authentic and engaging, she has also taught in elementary and middle schools in New Zealand and South Korea. Stephanie is an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Innovator. She has also completed her Masters in Education in Education Technology from the University of Canterbury. Stephanie presented at conferences in Australia, New Zealand and in Southeast Asia. Outside of school, Stephanie enjoys taking pictures, reading, and travelling.

Tim Evans

Tim is the Educational Technology Coordinator at Stamford American School Hong Kong. Originally from Wales, Tim has experience teaching in his home country as well as Spain, Thailand, and now Hong Kong. In his current role, Tim supports teachers and students with all things technology integration. He firmly believes that if used as a support tool, technology can improve teaching and learning. Time is also passionate about exploring new technologies, encouraging people to task risks and to give new tools a go. He also sees value in collaboration, sharing and networking – together we are stronger and being life-long learners in the tech world, there is no end to learning opportunities. Tim is excited to present at this year’s event – but also excited to attend sessions and to connect with some amazing educators, from here in Hong Kong and excitingly, from further afield too.
