ACCELERATED PATHWAY FOR MEDICINE (APMed)

PROGRAM

ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-2025

ADMISSION TO THE FIRST YEAR CLASS PRECISE APMed PROGRAM

The selection of students for admission is the responsibility of the Admissions Committee, which shall evaluate with care and fairness the total qualification of each applicant based on academic records, AMCAT (Allied Medical College Admission Test) conducted by Center for Educational Measurement, accomplished application form and personal interview.

 WHO MAY APPLY TO THE PRECISE APMed PROGRAM

1. Must be a Filipino citizen

2. Must have completed the Senior High School Program immediately before entering the PRECISE-APMed program (with no gap year)

3. Senior High School GWA of 80%

4. Must take the Entrance examination administered by the Cebu Institute of Medicine

5. Must have an aptitude and personality test administered by the Psychometrician of CIM

6. Must submit to a physical examination to be done at CVGH.

7. Must submit two (2) letters of recommendation from the Senior High School Program (Principal and Guidance Counselor)

8. Must submit a Certificate of Good Moral Standing

9. Must undergo interview with the Admissions Committee


WHO ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

1. Those who have taken a gap year/s from graduating a Senior High School Program

2. Those who have enrolled to any bachelor’s degree program and decided to shift to the PRECISE-APMed program


HOW TO APPLY:

It is important that the applicant must be aware of the qualifications to apply to the Accelerated Pathway for Medicine of the Cebu Institute of Medicine before they submit all requirements.

1. Download and Accomplish Application Form at https://bit.ly/precise-apmedApplicForm

2. Obtain a copy of Form 138 and attach with the application form

For application purposes, a certified true copy may be acceptable provided that the copy is clear and signed by the registrar. However, the original Form 138 will be asked from you when you will be accepted to the medical school for enrollment purposes. It may be possible that your Form 138 may not be released until after your graduation. In this instance, you may request for an informative copy of the Form 138 from your school registrar and this will be acceptable for evaluation purposes only. You will need the official Form 138 only when you are accepted and asked to enroll.

3. Obtain a Letter of Reference from the school principal and guidance counselor of your Senior High School Program and attach with the application form

Letters must attest to the applicant’s moral character, personal integrity, and his academic aptitude. Letters must bear the official school letterhead and the official academic email address of the professor making the recommendation. Incorporate the letters with all the other documents, both physical and electronic.

Letters must bear the official school seal using official school letterhead.

4. Attach your certified true copy of your class standing duly signed by the school principal or the school registrar (as the case may be).'

5. Create ONE PDF file for all the documents (steps 1-4).

Have all documents as ONE PDF FILE to avoid data loss.

Make filename as Family name followed by initials and date submitted [Family name Initials_ mm/dd/yyyy] EXAMPLE: Robredo LG_03202024. Make sure the file size is not greater than 15 mb

6. Payment for the Application fee (Until CHED will release the permit to operate expectedly by May 30, 2024, no fees shall be collected as of this time)

The schedule for the application/processing fee is as follows: Local students ₱1,800.00. An email will be sent to you from admissions@cim.edu.ph once your application documents are evaluated and verified. Details for the payment options will also be sent to you by email.

The depositor's name should be the applicant and must be written on the deposit slip or proof of payment.


7. Accomplish PRECISE Electronic Data Registration Form (PEDR Form)

Visit the CIM Admissions homesite at https://bit.ly/precise-apmedAdmissionsHome to access the registration from.

8. Upload Application form via the PRECISE Electronic Date Registration (PEDR) Form. (You may upload your application sans the application fee, until further notice).

The application form shall be as one PDF file which includes:

    Application form

    One copy of Form 138

    Two letters of reference

 

9.  Email admissions@cim.edu.ph 24 hours after submission via the PEDR Form to ask for verification of receipt of your documents.

11.  Applicant must then schedule an interview and Personality Testing with the Admissions Committee secretariat

12.  Notice of Acceptance to Cebu Institute of Medicine PRECISE APMed Program

All applicants who becomes accepted to enroll shall be notified on May 30, 2024 through email and all names shall be posted in the CIM website, Admissions Website and Official FB Accounts of Cebu Institute of Medicine.

A commitment fee for all accepted applicants is required to be paid within three weeks from the date of notice. This commitment fee is non-refundable.

The commitment fee is applied to the tuition fees upon enrollment.

For payment of commitment fee of Php 10,000.00 (local residents,) you may pay in-person or bank transfer deposit to CHINABANK Ramos branch Cebu City  ACCT # 1750273717  (Cebu Institute of Medicine). The depositor's name should be the name of the applicant and must be written on the deposit slip or proof of payment.

13.  Enrollment Process

All accepted applicants shall receive instructions for enrollment. This shall be sent along with the letter of acceptance. Enrollment period starts July 1, 2024.


IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Submit all electronic documents to admissions@cim.edu.ph. via the PRECISE Electronic Data Registration (PEDR) Form as ONE PDF FILE to avoid data loss.

The Admissions Office will only process complete applications


INTERVIEW

A personal interview is an essential part in the selection process. The Student Enrichment Officer, through the Admission Office Secretariat shall set an appointment for an interview, after evaluation of his/her documents.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Depending on the evaluation of the credentials sent or the outcome of the interview, the applicant may be required to submit other pertinent documents for verification or clarification. The applicant shall be informed of this with advance notice given.



 


FIRST SEMESTER CLASSES STARTS ON:

PRECISE Med year Level (PMYL) 1 and 2: AUGUST 7, 2024

MEDICINE PROPER:

First and Second Year Level: AUGUST 7, 2024

Third Year Level: JULY 1, 2024

Clinical Clerkship: JUNE 1, 2024
