What is the difference between application, admission, and enrollment?
Application is the process of submitting the complete required documents necessary for the Admissions Committee to adequately evaluate and process your eligibility and goodness of fit to the Cebu Institute of Medicine. (see below for requirements).
Admission is the process of determining applicants who are qualified as a good fit for the program of medicine of the Cebu Institute of Medicine. These qualified candidates are informed of eligibility for eventual enrollment at the Cebu Institute of Medicine. This is a three-phase process:
a. Phase 1 is the application phase where credentials and documents are evaluated for completeness and accuracy. Incomplete applications do not proceed to Phase 2. Applicant shall not be notified of the completeness or deficiencies of his/her application.
b. Phase 2 is the qualifying phase where all qualified documents are evaluated, and deemed eligible for the interview. It is in this phase that the applicant is deemed to have qualifications to enter the program of medicine. The interview process however will determine the good fit or right fit of the candidate to the Regular Program of Medicine of the Cebub Institute of Medicine, aligned with the Vision-Mission and Goals of the program. The Admissions office will determine the dates of the personal interview. Interviews will be conducted by the members of the Admissions Committee.
c. Phase 3 is the final phase. In this phase, all applications are deliberated as a cohort. This is where the goodness of fit of the candidate to Cebu Institute of Medicine is determined and a final decision regarding the application is made. It is in this phase that the application is deliberated as accepted for enrollment to the Program of Medicine. This phase is done with the Admissions Committee sitting en banc. The applicant will be informed of his acceptance initially through a text or SMS abd officially through a letter from the Chairman of the Admissions Committee through your registered email.
Enrollment is the process where qualified candidates have themselves actively registered to the program of medicine at Cebu Institute of Medicine, fulfilling all the requirements and documents for enrollment (see below for requirements).
