About us

The Philosophy of Computing Research Group was founded in 2023. Following the conclusion of the first course on the subject, designed and taught by Enrique F. S. Astorga, the group was established as a space for continuing the discussions that had emerged there. It went on to organise the first two symposia on philosophy of computing, successful academic events held in 2023 and 2024. Also in 2024, the group organised the round table 'Philosophy of Computing, Interdisciplinary Explorations' at the 2024 World Congress of Philosophy in Rome, and subsequently, in 2025, the first International Conference on Philosophy of Computing. In 2026, the group consolidated itself as a space for academic production and extension.
