Alina Hernández-Porrello is a design and technology leader and independent researcher whose practice sits at the intersection of human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, cognitive systems, and philosophy of technology. She is currently Director of UX Engineering at AgileEngine, where she leads multidisciplinary design practice and explores the integration of AI into design processes, product development, and complex digital systems.

Her research investigates how humans interpret, anticipate, and construct meaning under conditions of uncertainty. She is the author of the Contextual-Irruptive Forecasting Model (CIFM), a theoretical framework that examines forecasting as an adaptive process shaped by contextual disruption, emerging information, and changes in the observer’s interpretive model. Through research, writing, experimentation, and digital product practice, she explores the relationship between cognition, computational systems, design, and the mechanisms through which possible futures are perceived and constructed.
