In Year 9 students study the following topics which are linked to the GCSE curriculum:

• Rock and Roll music from the 1950’s and 1960’s

• Rock Anthems from the 1970’s and 1980’s

• I’ve Got Rhythm

• Samba music

In Years 10 and 11, students study music from the following areas:

• The Concerto through time - the development of the orchestra through the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods

• Rhythms of the world including Bhangra, Calypso and Eastern Mediterranean music

• Film and video game music

• Conventions of pop music - popular music from 1950s to modern day.
