In Year 7, students explore five enquiries: 

1. Digging Deep: How have historians pieced together medieval lives?; 

2. How did the Black Death change medieval England/ Europe? 3. Was the English Civil War the most significant event of the 17th Century?

4. How did the East India Company establish control over India?

5. How do historians help us to understand the moral and ethical issues of the Transatlantic Slave Trade?

In Year 8, four themes are covered:

1. How similar were protests in the 19th and 20th centuries?

2. What were the causes & consequences of conflict in the 20th century?

3. How significant were independence movements in ending the British Empire?

4. How did the experience of migrants impact the British Civil Rights movement?
