About the Regents Exam

Format: The New York State Regents Exam in Physical Setting/Chemistry is a three-part, 85-question, 3-hour exam that assesses a student's knowledge of chemistry and their ability to apply it:

Part A
35 multiple choice questions that test basic knowledge and comprehension of core chemistry concepts 

Part B
A mix of short answer and multiple choice questions that focus on analyzing situations, interpreting graphs and experiments, and making calculations 

Part C
Extended response questions that may require students to write short paragraphs, use equations and reference tables, or draw graphs and diagrams
