Home and Career Skills - Where Academics Meet Real Life

This seventh grade course is designed to introduce students to the scientific study of food. The lessons are designed with a “hands on” approach to participate in experiments and activities. The students will discover the connection between what they eat and what happens inside their bodies. This course also includes food preparation. In the classroom kitchen laboratory the students will prepare foods in cooperative leaning groups. Proper kitchen safety and sanitation procedures will be followed. This course meets every day for one trimester.
