• Current Events & SOAPS Analysis

  • In order to more successfully contribute to community, nation, and world at large, one should be current on issues and events. Being an informed citizen and discussing current events will provide a better perspective on different points of view and allow you to develop informed opinions of your own.

  • Students will receive FIVE current events assignment per quarter.. See attached handout for detailed instructions.

  • All submissions will be uploaded to Turnitin.com. All feedback will be provided through that platform.

• Research Project

  • A large part of the global history & geography 10 experience involves continuing to build upon the skills that you worked on during the first half of the course and continuously putting those to use (like recognizing bias or including more analysis as opposed to simply listing facts in your work). To show the development and strengthening of these skills, you will be given one major written assignment – an extensive research project during our fourth quarter.

  • The research paper will focus on human rights violations from modern global history (1945 to 2021).

  • Rough submissions and final submissions will be uploaded to Turnitin.com. All feedback will be provided through that platform.
