Homework
Please check your planner daily to be sure you are up to date with assignments.
Our hope is for all of our students to have a smooth transition to middle school. Students will write their assignments each morning in their PVC planner for all 3 academic blocks. Students should expect to complete homework nightly, as well as have weekly assignments that are due. All students write their homework in their planner.
For any families looking for additional practice at home, we encourage you to be creative in helping children see how classroom learning is valuable in the real world. One great example is the use of fractions in baking or decimals in finances. For students looking for more traditional practice at home, we encourage them to continue working on our Imagine Math and Achieve 3000 programs. Of course, if we feel students would benefit from additional practice on the skills taught in class, we will work with them to develop a plan, which may include some extra work at home. We will continue to review this policy throughout the year and adjust it as needed.
Some other things to remember:
Students are required to PASS 2 lessons weekly on our math program, Imagine Math. Students have time during learning lab to work on the program, but at times they may need to complete this work at home. Lessons are due on Sunday night and are recording in Google Classroom.
Any classwork that is not completed during class time becomes homework.
Students who go to instrument lessons during class time are responsible for making up missed work in class, as per the school policy. They can look to the digital notebook posted in google classroom to see what they've missed.
