Course Description:
Health education in CHUFSD is focused on enhancing your health skills and infusing the necessary knowledge through these skills. Health is a student-driven course and changes based on student need and current health information. Students enrolled in the course should expect to reflect on their personal well-being and consider any improvements they may want to make.
Goals of Health Course:
1. To enhance personal health and safety. (self-management)
2. To look at how we can enhance personal, family & community health. (relationship management)
3. To learn stress management strategies and skills.
4. To learn the ability to apply communication strategies and skills to enhance personal, family, & community health.
5. To learn decision making strategies and skills to enhance personal, family, & community health.
6. To apply planning and goal setting strategies and skills to enhance personal, family, & community health.
7. To apply advocacy strategies and skills to enhance personal, family, & community health.
8. To learn the functional knowledge we need in order to be able to live safe & healthy lives.
