At CHS we want to do all we can to help you make the right academic choices for the next stage in your educational journey. One way we can help you do this is to provide time for you to consider all the exciting opportunities awaiting for you at CHS. This is why each department has produced a page to explain to you the courses we offer at CHS and why you should consider studying them in the Sixth Form.
We would love the opportunity to tell you more about the CHS Sixth Form Experience and what makes it so special. Please consider booking a place on one of our Senior School and Sixth Form Open Event or contact our Admissions Team to organise a personalised tour.
Mr Michael Jones

Our experience in recent years suggests that in order to be comfortable with the academic pace of A-level study at CHS students require an attainment level equivalent to 56 points (from 9 subjects) in their GCSE / IGCSE exams. Students require 50 points (from 9 subjects) to be considered for the BTEC programme. Subjects graded 9-1 are allocated points equal to the number grade awarded. All students will be required to achieve minimum Level 6 in English and Maths.
In addition to the point score, key factors in determining likely success in the Sixth Form are a student’s proven commitment to academic study and Sixth Form subject choices which build on the their academic strengths. Specific advice about the level of GCSE performance recommended by each department can be found on the department page on this Site. It is advisable to check each subject carefully as some do specify a specific grade as a minimum. We try very hard to accommodate all subject combinations.
In order to make the most of joining Cheadle Hulme School we are looking for students who display an exceptional work ethic, a commitment to take full advantage of the opportunities on offer at CHS and students who embody the waconian values.
Life in our Sixth Form is a unique experience. It is friendly, fun, supportive and full of opportunity.
Who better to tell you than some of our own Waconians?
