Bridging Research and Practice in Neurodiversity: Evidence-Based Pathways Across the Lifespan
This edited volume explores evidence-based practices, emerging conceptualisations and culturally responsive approaches in the assessment, intervention and inclusion of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders across the lifespan. Integrating global and interdisciplinary perspectives, the book brings together contributions from psychology, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, special education and developmental paediatrics to address a pressing need, translating research into sustainable, real-world practice.
The volume covers critical themes while adopting a lifespan approach to neurodiversity. Each section highlights the importance of contextual and cultural adaptation in designing inclusive systems and interventions.
The structure of this book consists of seven thematic units. Each unit will have a maximum of 2 chapters. This volume will be published by a reputable international academic press, with the aim of influencing both scholarship and applied fields.
Part I: Early Identification & Intervention in Neurodiverse Development
This section focuses on early developmental pathways, identification and evidence-based intervention approaches in neurodiversity. Contributions may address assessment practices, early support models and ethical considerations in early intervention.
Part II: Inclusive Education & Pedagogical Practices
This section examines inclusive educational practices across learning contexts. Topics may include classroom strategies, curriculum adaptations, teacher preparation, collaboration with special educators and systemic challenges in inclusive education.
Part III: Adolescence and Emerging Adulthood
This section explores neurodiversity during adolescence and emerging adulthood, focusing on identity development, socio-emotional adjustment, educational & vocational transitions and evolving support needs.
Part IV: Employability and Participation
This section addresses employment pathways, workplace inclusion and broader social participation. Contributions may focus on transition planning, employability skills, organisational practices and policy perspectives supporting inclusion.
Part V: Mental Health & Well-being
This section focuses on mental health and psychosocial well-being across the lifespan. Topics may include co-occurring mental health concerns, resilience, service access and evidence-based approaches to holistic well-being.
Part VI: Families, Communities, and Systems of Support
This section examines the roles of families, communities and service systems in supporting neurodivergent individuals. Contributions may address caregiver experiences, family support, community inclusion, interprofessional collaboration and systemic facilitators and barriers.
Part VII: Current Trends in Neuroscience & Pharmacological Interventions
This section engages with contemporary developments in neuroscience and pharmacological interventions related to neurodiversity. Contributions may critically examine emerging evidence, ethical considerations and integration with developmental and psychosocial perspectives.

Structure:
Title: 10 to 20 words
Abstract: 150 to 200 words, 5 to 6 keywords
Main body: 2000 to 6500 words (including references)
Additional Section (“Policy Insight” or “Applied Implication”): 50 to 100 words.
Authorship: Individual or co-authored chapters. Papers with two or more co-authors should submit a conflict-of-interest statement.
Bio Note: Include a 100 to 150 word bio of each author with affiliation and email.
Figure/Tables: Limited to 4 visuals (maximum 4 tables or figures) per chapter. Figures should be provided in high-resolution, editable format.
