Our curriculum will include the Wordly Wise Grade 6 book this year. Every two weeks, the students will receive 15 new words that they will practice. They will also need to complete different exercises and activities that will help them learn the meaning of these words.
Our spelling words will come from our Wordly Wise book (our vocabulary book). We will spend two weeks on each list of words. For the first week, everyone will take the spelling test Friday.
📝If students get 100% on the first week's test, they do not need to take the test the second week, but will receive extra credit if they to take it again.
📝If students get 80%-99% right on the first week's test, they will have a choice of taking the test again the second week.
📝If students get less than 80% right on the first week's test, they will need to take it again the second week. We will follow this same pattern over the course of the school year.
To study our weekly words, the students will receive a list of 72 different ways to practice their spelling words. Students must complete four activities each week. Each activity is worth 5 points. Work will be complete in their spelling notebooks. Notebooks will then be handed in on Fridays for grading.
