Hi! I'm Barbara Hosmer, and I teach elementary technology. I've been with WMAES for 15 years, first teaching Spanish and now teaching our kids to use their technology safely and efficiently. We have a lot of fun learning to use our devices safely and linking our activities to the environment. We also enjoy 'Take a Walk Wednesday' each week to just get outside and get in touch with nature!

We are learning to keyboard and code! We use Typetastic.com to learn where to find our letters on the keyboard. This is the first step in learning to type. We use Code.org to learn the process of giving our computers commands. We are learning to complete puzzles step by step by using block coding.

We are currently practicing our typing skills with Typetastic.com. We are using Google Slides currently to create a slideshow about our monthly character theme of COURAGE. Students are creating a slideshow that defines courage and shows images with examples of courage. We are having a blast exploring all of the fun features in Slides.
4th - 5th grade
4th - 5th grade
4th-5th are practicing their keyboarding skills with typing.com. We are also using Google Earth to complete a 'Sea to Shore' Scavenger hunt. We are trying out new features of Google Earth and exploring new beaches all around the world!
