Hello! I'm Mrs. Thompson - Teaching Art at WMAES is my dream job! I focus on growth mindset and perseverance.  During each lesson, students learn about diverse contemporary and classical artists, new ways to express themselves, and the elements of art through a variety of materials. We refer to our monthly character traits, environmental themes, and childrens stories. We frequently use our beautiful environmental resources to create art! Art class creates great opportunities for our children to explore creative ways to express themselves,  interpret the world, and problem solve. I am so grateful to partner with you in the creative process! 

Some art skills we focus on throughout the year are plant dye, weaving, environmental art outdoors, clay, drawing, painting, collage, watercolor techniques, mark making, printmaking, and many more.
