Allow ako time to take photos and explore places around school that is significant to them. Brainstorm their feelings, thoughts, what do they see when they are at this place.
Start simple with writing: this example is the progress of a student who didn't like writing poetry and the compromise was write one haiku.
The ease of one haiku lead to five haikus repeating the last line in each.
This child was so proud and couldn't wait to share it with their whanau on their blog.

Using a magazine cover layout we thought about the characters from fairy tales and created magazine covers which talked about parts of the story (plot), what could've happened after, was it really happily ever after. Also looking at traits of their character.
