Now more than ever, students need the tools to survive a "fake news" world. This project addresses the challenge of information overload by teaching students how to spot misleading content and disinformation. Through hands-on investigation and critical analysis, participants will learn to filter through the noise, identify verified facts, and develop the lifelong habits required for responsible media consumption in a digital society.
Designed for students aged 15–17, this project turns the digital world into a classroom. Eight teams of students from 6 countries work together to investigate fake news and learn why it goes viral. By practicing real-world fact-checking and collaborating on interactive tasks, students will acquire the necessary skills to navigate the internet safely and intelligently.
The project coordinators across all participating schools are united by a common goal: to prepare a generation of future responsible digital citizens who will be able to navigate the complex informational environment we live in with a sharp critical eye.
