Kathaleen Tapia and Micah Uttecht were given a task to create a community service project for National Honor Society. Kathaleen had met with founders of Funds2org, a non-profit based in Florida, that could help start a Shoe Drive Fundraiser in the Chippewa Falls Community. Through Kathaleen's membership in Future Business Leaders of America, NHS and FBLA were able to collaborate to create this shoe drive. Together both organizations are working towards collecting shoes, which will turn into a monetary donation for Agnes' Table.
Our goal is to collect 500 pairs of shoes to raise a large amount of money for a local charity within Chippewa Falls. We also want to raise awareness about shoe landfill and the importance of recycling materials as much as possible.
In short, our shoe drive
Helps a local charity by providing a monetary donation
Helps the environment by preventing unnecessary fulfillment of our landfills
Helps developing countries, micro businesses, and employ individuals in need
Additionally, it gives two High School Seniors the opportunity to help the community before leaving for College.
