What have you learned in high school that you wish you knew before?

"I wish I would’ve knew which clubs were on campus or what classes I need for all my credits" -Junior

"I have learned the importance of finding school resources that will BENEFIT YOU ! Find what fits your schedule, your lifestyle, your interests! Knowing what is best for you can be tremendously HELPFUL when it comes to learning in class." -Junior

"I wish I knew that I could have taken a more fun class like dance rather than PE for credit. I also wish I knew more about the Don Lugo website and how to use it." -Junior

"I wish I would’ve known how fun the clubs and sports are, the resources provided by ETS, how helpful it is to ask your teachers for help, the dual enrollment courses offered, and also how important mindfulness is." -Junior

"The thing that I have learned about high school that I haven't knew before is that there are more options and activities to do." -Sophomore

"I learned in high school to have a plan from the start. My freshman year I knew what I wanted to get out of high school but I was too distracted and didn't have priorities. Also something I wish I knew was to not rely on teachers as much for help, use other resources." -Junior

"It's okay to fail and it's okay to struggle. Those are the moments you learn most from and that make you the strongest." -Sophomore

"I have learned that high school is not all about grinding, studying, and sleepless nights. Although doing well academically is important, I think that it's also important to prioritize mental and physical health, and to find your passion. When you are in the right headspace, you will be motivated to try new things and do the things you love." -Junior

"Before entering high school, I wish I developed the mindset that having perfect grades wasn't the only way to succeed and that being involved in activities, sports, and hanging out with friends is just as important. Learn to create a healthy work and social life balance and you will be so much happier. Also, develop good and productive study habits, so you don't have to spend hours on homework!" -Junior

"I have learned the deeper meaning of self sacrifice for a dream. Before, I thought that self sacrifice simply involved losing sleep and doing work that you may not want to do. It may sound scary what I have learned, but it is certainly not impossible and with enough resolve, a large enough dream, and enough help, it is very possible as I have come to learn. I have learned that self sacrifice is not only a battle on the outside with homework, sports, and maintaining your schedule, but it is also a battle on the inside, a fight to keep your resolve, motivations, and dreams alive... However, the end result, your victory in keeping your dreams alive, and conquering a great challenge, in this case school and possibly sports, makes it all worth it." -Junior
