CHECC teaches using biweekly themes. These are designed to meet curriculum needs and/or build on the children’s interests. Activities are designed to have children learn and discover new things each day and more importantly develop a love of learning.

4. An awareness of numbers and counting
5. Development of large and small muscles
6. Creative expression including writing
7. Respect for themselves and others
How will my child learn?
1. Through play, using games, blocks, manipulatives
2. Teacher directed activities
3. Dramatic play, using puppets, the kitchen center and acting out simple stories
4. Music: singing, dancing, and rhythms
5. Stories

CHECC balances play with many structured activities such as table time, circle time, open ended art activities, music, meals, clean up, etc. Curriculum activities are chosen based on the needs of the children enrolled and where the teacher feels they need to be for kindergarten. It is important to help each child succeed at his or her own level and adjust projects to meet and challenge their current level of development.
