About the Coaches

Brenna Valencia Varsity Head Coach

Brenna Valencia brings 7 years experience as the assistant coach for PVHS Varsity Girls Soccer into her first year as the Varsity Head Coach. She also has 6 years of coaching experience for Chico Cal Soccer Club and currently coaches a U14 soccer team. Brenna also has experience coaching at the college level with Chico State Women's soccer from 2019-2020. 

Brenna is a Chico native who has played soccer since the age of 5. She also played basketball and tennis, but soccer was her main passion. She played 4 years of Varsity soccer at Pleasant Valley High School. Brenna graduated from PVHS in 2015 and continued her soccer career as she went on to play at Butte College and Chico State. 

Brenna received her B.A. in Kinesiology (Physical Education) with a minor in Adapted Physical Education at Chico State in 2019. She received her teaching credential for Physical Education and Health in 2020. Brenna most recently received a Masters Degree in Kinesiology in 2022.

Stefanie Volk Frosh/Soph Head Coach

Stefanie has been an English teacher, Activities Director (8 years) and coach at PVHS for the last 11 years. She  has been a coach at PVHS for the last 11 years. She was the JV Field hockey coach for 8 years and has been the Varsity coach for 2 years now. She has been the JV soccer coach for 11 years. 

Stefanie is a Chico transplant growing up in Roseville, Ca and moving to Chico for college. She fell in love with the chico community and never left! Stefanie played competitively her whole life finishing her career on the Chico State Club Team. 

Teaching and Coaching is her passion. She understands that being a good coach goes beyond the basics of the classroom or the field. Being a good teacher and coach means helping youth become the best person they can be on and off the field. 

In her spare time she loves strength training and be with her pugs :)
