This will be my 15th school year, and my 12th year at Willow Creek! I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grades, and I must say… 2nd grade is my favorite! The amount of growth and independence that occurs is simply magical!
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in corporate event planning where we planned trips for large companies all over the world. I was in charge of creating budgets, writing proposals and working with hotels and various travel companies. I traveled to many different places. I worked with people from all different areas of the globe including: Asia, Australia and many different countries in Europe! I developed relationships with lots of people from different cultures and backgrounds. All of this experience helped me develop the skills I would need for the classroom someday.
You will find that the cornerstone of our classroom is relationships! From the moment you walk in on the first day of school, you will become part of our 2nd grade family. Our goal will be to ignite your innate curiosity for learning as we develop a classroom centered around YOU and YOUR needs! We have so many fun things planned for you this year! We will continue to grow and build upon your current knowledge as well as develop more independence in second grade. I am excited to get to know you and learn right alongside you!
When I'm not in the classroom, you will find me spending time with family. Nearly all of my immediate family and extended family live in Colorado. In fact, my mom's side of the family are fourth generation Coloradans! I love spending time in our beautiful mountains and exploring all the fun that our lively city has to offer. I'm married to my husband, Bryce, and we have two boys, ages 7 and 10, who light up our lives. We also have a wild (and very loving) Welsh Corgi named Lucy. She always keeps us busy!
