What is Intervention?
Intervention uses research-based strategies to teach a new skill, build fluency in a skill, or support a child in applying a previously taught skill to new situations or settings. Intervention typically works with students who have demonstrated they would benefit from additional support in reading or math. A group of 4-6 students meet with an intervention specialist outside of the classroom. At Ponderosa, this happens during targeted instruction so that students have additional time to practice without missing whole group instruction. The intervention team collaborates with classroom teachers, and administrators to foster student success.
