Military

Joining the United States military is a common alternative to attending college after high school. There are many benefits of joining the military, including: career exploration and development; a steady income and benefits; tuition assistance for college after service. There are five branches of the military: Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as options through the Reserves, National Guard, and ROTC. The process for applying to a United States Military Academy is completed with a student's counselor through the 4-year college application process. Any students interested in attending a military academy should inform their counselor of this goal during their 10th grade year and attend a junior conference in November or December of their junior year.
