Head Coach
Drew Robertson is both the program Head Coach and a Social Studies teacher at Cherokee Trail. Having grown up in Littleton/Centennial, he is a graduate of Arapahoe High School, and has spent his career dedicated to young people in the Denver area. Coach Robertson comes to CT after having previously taught and coached in the Denver area for nearly a decade. His teaching experience includes working at Arvada and Green Mountain High Schools in Jefferson County, and Cherry Creek High School in CCSD.
Drew's coaching experience includes youth flag football, baseball, and basketball. He has also coached boy's lacrosse at the varsity level for Denver South, Smoky Hill, and Green Mountain High Schools.
When he is outside the classroom and off the practice field, he enjoys spending time with his family, which consists of his wife, Sarah, and three sons: Keller; Camden; and Cooper.

After spending a few years in the Dallas area, he and his wife have moved back to Colorado, and are excited to start a new chapter as part of the Cougar Nation.

JV Coach
Coach Meeks has been part of Cherokee Trail since 2004, with a brief two-year break before returning in 2023. He currently teaches Geometry and Algebra 2 and brings over two decades of coaching experience to the program. Over his 24 years in high school athletics, he has coached boys and girls cross country, soccer, basketball, and swimming, and has spent more than 12 years as a head coach in girls soccer, girls lacrosse, girls swimming, and boys swimming. Growing up in New Mexico, he was a “gym rat,” playing four years of varsity basketball and three years of varsity golf. For Coach Meeks, Cherokee Trail is more than a school — it’s a community. Having taught, coached, and raised three CT graduates, he values the spirit that makes CT a special place. Excited by the pace and challenge of flag football, he joined the program to help athletes grow and compete at a high level.
JV Coach
Coach Wichern is in his sixth year at Cherokee Trail, where he teaches AP Government and Politics as well as Concurrent Enrollment U.S. History. While new to high school athletics, he brings prior coaching experience from summer ice hockey camps and adult softball. As an athlete, he lettered in both football and wrestling during his sophomore and junior years before an injury cut his senior football season short, and he also competed in AA ice hockey outside of school. What Coach Wichern values most about Cherokee Trail is its family-like community. He is excited to be part of the flag football program, where he enjoys the wide-open style of the 7-on-7 passing game and the opportunity it gives students to have fun, compete, and grow together.
