Welcome to the homepage of the Cherokee Trail High School Girl's Flag Football Team.
Established 2024
Proud participants of the inaugural 2024 CHSAA Flag Football season!
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to empower young women through the sport of flag football, fostering resilience, teamwork, and a love for the game.
We are dedicated to building a program that not only develops athletes but also shapes intelligent, confident, and upstanding leaders who make a positive impact in their community.
CT Flag Football will be offering numerous camps this summer, to encourage young female athletes to participate, to educate, and dominate the game of flag football. Flag is the fastest-growing sport in Colorado, along with one of the fastest-growing in the country. Colorado saw the largest growth of participants in girls Flag Football compared to any other sport the prior two seasons.

Background Info:
CHSAA officially announced high school girls flag football as a sanctioned sport on April 23, 2024. Fall of 2024 saw Colorado's first full season of competition, with 62 high schools participating in two divisions (4A and 5A).
Cherokee Trail competes in the CHSAA 5A Centennial League, including other member schools Arapahoe, Cherry Creek, Eaglecrest, Grandview, Mullen, Overland, and Smoky Hill.
The regular season schedule consists of 8 non-league opponents, as well as one game against each league opponent (7), totalling 15 games at the varsity level.
In the program's first year (2024), we were able to boast a roster of nearly 30 student-athletes, many of whom were playing flag football for the first time; and doubled the program size in 2025 with over 50 girls registered to play!
The outlook for the program is to have multiple levels of teams going forward (varsity, jv, level 3), and to be competitive against any opponent we face on the field. Games at the lower levels will be determined by our opponent's program size. Many schools are also growing their program, but may not have a JV team, or a Level 3/JV2 team.
The total number of teams will be determined by interest level, and registration through the Athletics Office (See info here: CT Athletics - Athletic Registration).
