I am pleased to be returning this year to Glenside Elementary School. Together, you, your child’s teachers, and I can help your child become an effective communicator in academic and social situations.
Your child’s speech and language are very personal parts of him/her. Young children have a natural desire to want to communicate. The desire can be encouraged through a warm and supportive atmosphere. A child who is told, “You did not say that right,” or “You should be able to do better than that!” will soon feel what he/she has to say is not worth sharing. Like all learning, the development of language and listening skills will occur more readily when your child is comfortable with the activity.
