Parent to Para Program:
1) Do I need to be a CPS parent to apply?
Yes. Our upcoming cohort will focus on parents of children in CPS.
2) What are the educational requirements?
Completion of an associates degree or the Para Pro Test.
3) Does this program offer financial assistance?
Currently, this program does not offer financial assistance. However, we will support our upcoming cohort with job placements and career development.
Paraprofessional to Teacher Program:
1) Do I need to be a paraprofessional to apply?
Yes. Our upcoming cohorts will primarily focus on paraprofessionals who have already obtained a bachelors degree.
*Note: Cohort 3 has 3 spots open for teachers with provisional licenses.
2) Does TPP provide financial assistance?
Yes. TTP provides financial assistance to cover part of tuition and also teaching licensure testing fees. We will only pay for the courses and tests you take while in the program.
3) Do I need to be a student at Salem State University?
Yes. All participants need to be enrolled in Salem State.
4) Can I pursue any type of teaching license while in TPP?
No. At TPP we are focused supporting paraprofessionals who have a desire to pursue teaching licenses in our high need areas: STEM, Special Education and ESL.
5) What type of support does TPP provide its participants?
TPP provides participants with support in pursuing licensure and career development. Each cohort participates in a number of relevant workshops throughout the school year.
6) Am I guaranteed a job upon completion of the program?
CPS will be committed to identifying positions for cohort members. Participants are expected to commit to CPS for two years.
