Come explore poetry with us! 

You don’t have to be a good poet or understand every poem you read. Join us to relax with friends old and new, explore the art of the written and spoken/performed word, and create your own poetry, music, raps, slam poems, poetry shorts (videos), and more!

Description: Our club focuses on the exploration and study of classic and contemporary poetry, and of language/culture/rhythm and musical lyricism of multiple genres, with the aim to create our own poetry and cultivate voice in a variety of ways.   We will read and discuss poetry together, learn to write in a variety of ways, study musical lyricism and rap, and work on Slam poetry too.  If possible, we hope to work together with Mass Poetry to host a Student Day of Poetry for the school, including workshops with nationally acclaimed poets and an open mic event!
