Second Grade Music

Students will continue to work on the musical ideas and skills they have learned.

Students will also:

• Identify dynamic markings in music

• Be introduced to the staff:

  • Treble clef

  • Time signature

  • Measures and barlines

• Read, understand, and perform:

  • Whole, Half, Quarter, and Eighth Notes

  • Whole, Half, and Quarter Rests

• Compose and improvise using all elements of music learned

• Identify music families and their corresponding instruments

• Introduction to folk dance
