First Grade Music

Students will continue to work on the musical ideas and skills they have learned.

Students will also:

• Sing songs

  • With dynamic contrast

• Identify and perform quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests

• Perform a steady beat, rhythmic patterns, and simple melodic patterns on percussion instruments and melodic instruments

• Improvise simple musical ideas

• Compose simple rhythmic ideas

• Respond to music using proper vocabulary
