This course was offered for the first time ever in the 2023-2024 school year, and according to Film Making Alums, the course has been "renewed for a second season" in the 24-25 school year and for a "third season" in the 25-26 season!
Students interested in Film Making must successfully complete Broadcasting I & II, where they will learn the basic of planning, filming, and editing before diving into narrative films.
TRIVIA: Under the guidance & with the approval of the District Curriculum Office, the curriculum for this course was written by Mr. Gorelick (at West) and Mr. Gambino (at East).

FILMMAKING: 10, 11, 12 5 credits
PREPARATION: Successful completion of Broadcasting 1 & 2
As a full-year course, this class will act as an extension of Broadcasting 1 & 2 with a focus on narrative filmmaking, including writing, directing, and producing short works. Students will continue honing their skills with video work, including writing for film, cinematography, directing, editing, and revising based on feedback from others. Projects will include short films, web mini-series, and other works based on students’ interests. Students will also continue analyzing professional work to continue to understand the culture and the impact of film.
