Summer Enrichment
Hello!
I hope you have been enjoying your summer so far! My name is Ms. Begley, and I am excited to be your AP Computer Science A teacher this year.
This is an AP-level course, meaning we will cover a lot of material quickly to prepare you for the AP exam to earn college credits. I know the last thing you want to think about during the summer is schoolwork, but I want to offer you some resources to help prepare you for the pace of the course.
While many of you are already expert programmers from Intro to Computer Programming and/or AP CS Principles, we’ll be focusing on Java this year, which may be a new language for some of you.
To help you get started, I’ve set up a classroom on CodeHS. You can join using this link: https://codehs.com/go/3E9F5
Although completing this assignment isn’t mandatory, I strongly recommend spending some time practicing. Any work you put in now will help alleviate stress in the fall! I suggest quickly reviewing Units 1-3, which should be familiar from last year. If you have extra time, feel free to explore Units 4 & 5, which will give you a head start on what we’ll cover this year.
You are welcome to jump around between lessons and focus your time wherever you see fit. As a reminder, this is just for your benefit and will not be graded.
Please reply to this email OR join the CodeHS classroom above to let me know you received this message.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out (ebegley@chclc.org). I am more than happy to help! Looking forward to a great year together!
