Phones and earbuds/headphones need to be away during instructional time for the whole period.
Phones can’t come out because “I completed all of my work”; “we aren’t doing anything”; “I just need to check the time”; “I need to have my earbuds in because it helps me”; etc.
Phones DO NOT come out when a student is leaving the room for the restroom. It is still the instructional period!
The only exception is for students who have a specific documented use outlined in an IEP or 504 plan.
Allowable times students can use their wireless electronic device
Between classes; during Lunch/Homeroom; during Study Hall; during Co-curricular Activities; on the bus
Students MAY NOT record audio or video at any time.
Wireless electronic devices should be kept silent and in a secure place: locker; closed backpack
Smart watches are allowed, but should NOT be used for any purpose other than timekeeping.
