The Cherry Hill West Marching Band is an extracurricular ensemble open to students from 8th-12th grade. The band is always looking to continue to grow and would welcome more members!
Students who play woodwind or brass instruments would participate in the band. Students who play snare drum, bass drum, or quads would participate in the drumline. Students who play mallet instruments, keyboard, auxiliary percussion, electric bass, or electric guitar would participate in the pit. Students who are interested in participating, but might not play an instrument, might be interested in the Color Guard, a group of students who use flags and props to enhance the visual aspects of our performance. Students who take dance lessons are encouraged to try Color Guard.
The band rehearses a couple of days in June, once a week in the end of July and early August, a two week band camp in August, and Mondays and Wednesdays once school starts. They perform at every home football game, local competitions, regional competitions, and state competitions. All rehearsals and events take place outside of the school day.
While it is a lot of work, the group becomes like a family by the end of the season. Feel free to check out the videos included below to see how much fun we have. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Sagedy (rsagedy@chclc.org).
Interested in joining? Email Mr. Sagedy at rsagedy@chclc.org.
Staff Members include: Mr. Christopher Miller, Mrs. Bethany Bantle, and Mrs. Brittney DeAngelo
