2018-19 sees Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools in the midst of a lot of change regarding the delivery of services for advanced learners.
We are also currently writing our three-year AIG plan for 2019-2022, as required by state law. In the midst of all of this, we are working hard to build a foundation of responsive, flexible, engaging, accessible services to advanced and gifted learners.
Advanced academics and gifted service delivery:
- can be delivered in real-time or digitally through Google Classroom, Actively Learn, or other digital platforms.
- include teacher support through digital collaboration on lessons, real-time PLC collaboration, and through the district's Instructional Planning Team's curriculum work.
- are starting to include meaningful, robust, measurable independent inquiry projects for students who have demonstrated needs beyond the regular curriculum.
- include the school wide development of Paideia methods for all students, which can be modeled and supported by the GES in all subject areas.
- includes school wide enrichment opportunities (creative writing, independent exploration, music exploration, maker events)
