Allison Crosetto - School Social Worker
Hi there!
My name is Allison Crosetto and I’m the school social worker at Phillips. The 25-26 school year will be my 12th at Phillips. As the social worker, I provide connections between the school, our families, and the community. This includes working closely with all stakeholders to ensure that all students are able to reach their full potential.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family. We are big Appalachian State and Carolina Hurricanes fans. I also love to read and listen to audiobooks.
Dr. Zakiyyah Omar - 6th Grade Counselor
Hello! My name is Zakiyyah Omar and I’m excited to serve as your 6th grade school counselor. I have a background in both social work and counseling and have over 15 years of experience helping families and students.
As your school counselor, I will advocate for students, ensure their academic and social emotional success, and collaborate with all stakeholders. Since this will be my first year at Phillips, I’m looking forward to building relationships with everyone and helping to cultivate a space for students to build positive social emotional skills.
When I’m away from school, I LOVE to travel, paint, and exercise.
Cole Stanley - 7th Grade Counselor
Hello Falcon families! My name is Cole Stanley, and I will be the 7th Grade school counselor at Phillips this year. I am a double Tar Heel, having studied at UNC for undergrad and completed my Masters in School Counseling at Carolina. Before going back to school, I was a middle school teacher in Orange County, and discovered that supporting the growth and wellness of middle schoolers was my calling.
I grew up in Greensboro, NC, and have lived in Orange County for about a decade now. I love talking to students and parents about mental health and academic success— but also about sports (especially Tar Heel basketball), board & video games, books, and history!
I am so excited to meet you all and get to work with all of our wonderful students at Phillips this year.
Virginia Fox - 8th Grade School Counselor
Hi there! My name is Jewel Fischer and I'm the 7th Grade Counselor.
I've been at Phillips for 4 years and during my time here, I've had the privilege of serving all three grade levels. One of the things I love about being a Counselor at Phillips is that I get to loop up with my students each year which allows me to make meaningful connections with them and their families!
As a School Counselor, I work closely with teachers, parents/guardians, and other important stakeholders to eliminate barriers that interfere with a child's academic and social emotional success at school. For more information about my role, please visit our Comprehensive School Counseling Program page.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, being in nature, and cuddling with my dog, Beans!
Erin Berliner - School Psychologist
Hi! My name is Erin Berliner, and I am the school psychologist for Phillips Middle and Seawell Elementary. This is my 1st year working at Phillips, but my 15th year in the profession. I am excited to be a part of the wonderful Student Services Team and to get to know all of you! In my role, I collaborate with families, teachers, and other staff to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. This may look like conducting assessments with students to help identify their strengths and areas they would benefit from support, co-facilitating small groups such as SPARCS, or engaging in problem-solving with school teams.
What is a school psychologist?
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 8-year-old son, traveling, playing tennis, hiking, practicing yoga, reading, binge watching my favorite TV shows, and eating tacos.
