The title of this project is "Asleep in the Studies".
The purpose of this scene is that the character sitting in the desk is tired of all of the spells they are learning and when the owl swoops in and closes the book blowing out the candles, the character wakes up and opens the book while the candles light up again, then goes back into a deep slumber.
The character in this project is the person laying their head on the desk. What makes this person expressive is the feeling of tiredness and looking like they have been working on spells all night.
It tells a story by showing the tiredness of the wizard and hi slumber being disturbed by the owl swooping in
Candles, desk, owl, wizard, books, bookshelf, windows, hat
The items that will need the most attention are the wizard and the owl.
the items that will need rigging are the wizards head, the owl, the book on the desk, and the candle flames.
the design of my character as shown in the sketch, their eyes are closed, therefore it shows that they are tired and have a lack of sleep.
Cameras will be places in the front view so you can see the whole scene and see everything that is happening.
This layout supports the flow of the scene because you get a clear view of what is going on and what primatives are being rigged/moving.
What was the concept of my main character? The concept of my character was that the wizard needed to look cartoon-ish because the other asset that I created was also cartoonish. How did sketching help out my process? Sketching helped out my process because having a basis of what I wanted my character to look like and the positioning. What modeling tools did I use? Some modeling tools that I used for my wizard was Lathe for the hat: I had to outline one half of the hat shape and then use the lathe tool to create to full shape for the hat.
What challenges did I face while making my UVW? Some challenges that I faced while making my UVW was not knowing where to place the face because the color kept of covering the mark point that I had for the face. In the end, I had to guess where to place the face and thankfully got it right the first time. How did the materials applied to the character help the way that it looked? The material that I added to the hat just made the appearance look more rough so it would still reflect the candle lighting that I had in my scene without looking to shiny. How did my color choice affect my character? The colors that I chose, to me, remind me of a basic, young wizard. So i chose the navy for his "cloak" and black for a basic wizard hat.
What challenges did I face while creating my character? Some challenges that I faced while creating my character was that the UVW was very complicated. It took me a bit to get the face right before I added it to the sphere. What part of my model am I most proud of? The part of my model that I am the most pleased with is probably the face. The reason being is because I had to use google drawings and I am not the best at drawing with a mouse and a clicker. But overall, I am very happy with how the face turned out. How will my character be used in my animation? My character will be used in my animation by starting off asleep, as an owl swoops in and leaves, the wizard looks around and then slowly puts his head down and resumes to sleep.
Whispers in the Study and in this prompt's concept is a young wizard sleeping on the desk after a long day and an owl wakes him up, and thne he falls back asleep.
