Fall 2025 Career Exploration Sessions
During the Fall 2025 Semester, CHCCS middle school students were able to experience different careers by guest presenters. Presentations were provided by Cisco, Prism Design, Carrboro Plumbing, and an entrepreneur from the news, media, & entertainment industry. In addition to introducing students to careers in each of these fields, presenters also provided students with real world experiences. These experiences allowed students to practice problem solving and to demonstrate their public speaking and design skills. Students were also able to explore careers by using VR headsets during the fall semester. Virtual reality simulations range from the healthcare industry to the skilled trades.

October 2025
October is NC Countdown to College Month! Each year for one week during October NC high school seniors are able to apply to many NC colleges and universities for free! That's right. The application fee is waived. Middle school students are not quite ready to apply to college yet, but they can show their school spirit by participating in College Colors Day. For this day, students and staff members were encouraged to wear their favorite college colors and gear. Check out pictures for this event below.
November 2025
November is National Career Development Month! CHCCS middle school Family & Consumer Science classes celebrated by welcoming Chartwells to provide cooking demonstrations. Students were able to make and taste a variety of dishes, including pumpkin bars and smashed sweet potatoes.
December 2025
In the month of December, Medical Explorers at each middle school had it's kick off session. This year's group, which includes 6th and 7th graders is bigger and better. On December 16 & 17 the CHCCS CTE Department hosted the 8th Grade High School CTE Tours. This event allows every 8th grader to tour the CTE programs at their designated high schools.
