We all lose or damage library materials at some time in our lives. We do ask that you take responsibility by either paying for a replacement directly OR by working off your fines.
What to do if you lose or damage an item:
Please let a library worker know if you have lost or damaged an item. Please don't leave damaged items in the drop-box. We'll have to track you down later to discuss the problem!
Two Options for Replacing Library Materials:
- Pay the list price of the item. We'll give you a receipt. If you find a lost book after you've paid, you can get a refund IF the book has not already been replaced.
- Work in the library for a set amount of time.
Steps for the "Work Off Your Fines" Program
- Come see us in the library. We'll get you on the work list. 8th graders are given priority.
- Work for the required amount of time as determined by the value of the item:
- Level 1: (1.5 Hours) $5-10.
- Level 2: (3 Hours) $11-25.
- Level 3: (5 Hours) $30+
- Get a punchcard from the library. This is how you keep up with the time you've worked. You must keep up with this card to get credit. You can work in 10 minute intervals to pay off the fine over several days.
- Get to work! Be sure to sign in with the librarian. You may work before, during, or after school until 3:30.
- There might not be student work available at all times. Keep checking back!
