Student work is to be celebrated, and it is something our teachers take to heart. Our teachers actively look for ways to showcase student work throughout the schools and the community. We regularly display work in the school buildings, as well as at the State Employee's Credit Unions, the public library, local businesses, coffee shops, art festivals, benefits, the state fair, and a variety of other places.
The Visions Show is a districtwide art exhibit, featuring work from our elementary, middle, and high schools. It is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase our student work, inspire artists of all ages, demonstrate the variety of projects and media within our curriculum, and show student growth from K-12.
Our teachers include as many students as possible, but there are approximately 8,000 students enrolled in our K-12 visual arts programs. It is not practical to include all students in the district -wide show. There are many other opportunities throughout the K-12 experience.
Depending on student and teacher interest, a number of our schools offer extracurricular clubs that allow students to explore creative interests in more depth. There are also opportunities to be involved beyond the school day through working on the sets of our secondary school musicals, and by participating in competitions.
