I am Eleanor Davis and I am a student at Chapel Hill High School. One important thing to know about me is I have low vision. Which means I need a really strong prescription to see and even with my glasses it can be hard for me to see small details. Because of this originally I had a difficult time using 3ds Max but I powered through and earned my Autodesk certification which makes me an Autodesk Certifed User in 3ds Max.
What inspired me to pursue 3D modeling and animation was my love for video games. So of course, I wanted to learn how to create them. Having taken 3D modeling an animation, as a freshman at my high school, I have a lot more experience with the software 3ds Max.

Indiana Jones & the Temple of Primitives
I made an animation based on Indiana Jones while making my own version of a sequel.
Performance-Based Measurement
In this final project for my 3D Modeling & Animation class I created a looped animation for an intro to a video game. Check it out here.
How do you approach a new project?
First, I would come up with an idea using inspiration from my favorite shows and movies. Next, I would do research for information about potential topics and concepts. Finally, I would draw my concept art multiple times including an orthographic sketch showing the top, front, and side views of my models. I have also used AI image generators, like Dall-E in ChatGPT, to generate concept art to help me visualize my scene.
What inspires your work (e.g., specific artists, games, styles, real-world influences)?
I love video games like Baldur's Gate 3, Roblox, Fallout 4, Fortnite, and more. I'm a member of the video game club at my school. I play Dungeons & Dragons, also known as D&D, which is a RPG (role-playing game) with my family and friends. I am really into movies and sci-fi/fantasy shows. Some of my favorites are the current Fallout series on Prime Video, Dr. Who, and Duck Tales, to list just a few.
My hope and dream is to use what I've learned and what I'm going to learn to do game design and animation for a video game company such as Epic Games, Toys for Bob, Blizzard, Roblox, or Team Cherry.
