I chose this snowman because it was the first thing that I modeled and shows how far I have come in my modeling capabilities. To model this I used the basic primatives sphere and box as well as the move and rotate tools and the modify tab for precision. The part of this piece that I am most proud of is how far I have come since this in just under four monthes. Through making this model I learned the importance of positioning the finished model in an interesting way as it was not posed interestingly and looked much worse because of it. Overall, even though this model is far from my best work, I chose to include it because it shows my progress and I learned a lot from it.

I chose these objects because they were the first objects that I modeled entirely on my own and I was able to use everything I had previously learned while devoting weeks to it to perfect it. To model this I used subobject modeling tools like taper, chamfer, and editpoly, primatives, and compound objects like lathe, boolean, and loft. The part of this piece that I am most proud of is the axe as it is the hero prop so took most of the time and was highly detailed. I was inspired to model this because I had recently discovered a very liminal space area on a run and originaly wanted to model something apocalyptic so looked for reference images of weapons were I found an enchanted axe and then decided to model the enchanting station where it could have been enchanted. Overall, I am very proud of this model because I did it entirely on my own and I was able to devote a lot of time to perfecting it.

I chose this table lamp because it is my most recent model so showcases my growing experience with modeling lights. To model this I used simple compound objects and subobject modeling as well as spotlights and skylights. The part of this piece that I am most proud of is my use of the skylight because I had not learned about it yet and so discovered it on my own and I think it still turned out well. Through making this model I learned about how to do ambient lighting and balance the intensity of different light sources. Overall, I chose this because it is the most up to date example of my modeling skills and I am happy with how the lighting turned out.
I made this piece using various materials in the slate material editor such as physical materials, shellac materials, and color maps. I experienced challenges while creating this from making mistakes as it was my first time applying materials to models. This piece demonstrates my skill level in 3ds Max as it demonstrates my newfound abilities with material editing. This piece is much more detailed and realistic than my previous model as the aim of this model was realism from textures rather than simply modeling. I learned how to use materials and maps to add details and realism to my models from this model.
I made this by using various tools to help with UVW mapping such as the UVW unmap modifier, pack custom, and the UVW editor. I ran into some challenges while creating this piece as it was my first experience with UVW mapping and I made many mistakes. This piece demonstrates my skills and abilities in 3ds Max as it shows what I can do with UVW mapping and is my best work in UVW mapping. This piece is much more detailed and complex than my previous work because I am focusing on the overall look rather than exclusively the shape of my model. From creating this piece, I learned how to adjust my UVW maps in my future models, I will apply this to future projects to increase realism in my future projects.
I made this piece using everything that I have learned so far in 3ds max for modeling including basic modeling, sub-object modeling, materials, and UVW mapping. I ran into some challenges while creating this piece as I modeled it entirely on my own using only a reference image and I made many mistakes that made my modeling much less efficient. I am most proud of my use of editable poly and sub-object modeling in this piece as the entire model was made from very little elements. This piece demonstrates my skill level in 3ds Max as I modeled this piece entirely on my own without any outside help. This piece is slightly less detailed than my previous work because I modeled it in it's entirety rather than importing a premade model.
